I find this perplexing. He claims that fuel availability need not always limit GDP. You respond with a model which assumes a perfectly linear relationship between the two- it’s not a rebuttal, you’re just assuming his objection away.
 
There is a fundamental problem, or several of them. But the one that I am thinking of, at this moment, is the ridiculous fallacy that freedom = capitalism. We are in a second guilded age. Let’s all pray that the current acquiesence is overcome with radical desire for change. The last time this happened was in 1934. Just compare the 1934 with 1932. It’s time for people to rise up against social and economic injustice.
 
I can tie what many are referencing to the socialist economic theory of Kondratiev Wave.

The Title of this tread is “The Suicide of the West”. Typically, I do not favor socialist economic theories, however, basing economies to ‘Analogous to the human lifecycle’ appears logical to me. I would even state that the human life cycle can be manipulated by peaks and flows in the population of a people. Thus, population control at the beginning and at the end can change an economy greatly (abortion and euthanasia).

We can speculate that based on the Westenerns largest generation, the Baby Boomers, that we are on the recession/depression section of the Kendrick wave. Politically, we are seeing a heavy push to make euthanasia acceptable and legal in many Western nations. So, what would this suicide do to the population? We have to account for the ebbing of new life around the 1970’s. Eyeballing the theory, I am concluding that a wave of deaths in the baby-boomers generation would lead to skipping over the depression phase and most of the expansion phase (how can expansion occurs without employment and human growth). Now, the final part of the Kondratiev Wave Theory states that when the cycle is complete another nation will rise to enjoy the economic expansion. My thoughts is it might be the Muslims who can capture this new wave. I would have believed that China/India would have grabed that change of status, but with the population control, I believe they are in the same boat as the West, only with a dirty ecological enviroment. Then again, our Latin countries (Brazil, Argentina, and such) might make a surprising advancement.

What I hope to share personally, and economically (based on long-waves) that we should not fear winter (death, depression) because in harvesting these fruits we can prepair for the change that comes next; God willing, may the change lead us to Him.

Its not that I disagree with what you are saying. But, when a man marries someone, the modern culture is for the government to give half of everything you earned to that divorced spouse.

I knew more then 2 guys who had 20+ years in with public utilities with union pensions. When their wives, cheated on them with their secret dope dealers, they had to give 50% of their pensions to the Ex wives while the women, where living and sleeping with their new BF's.
If I don’t have a cush job, why should I have kids?. Work myself for 12.00 an hour the rest of my life 10 hours a day. 6 days a week, to scrape by. Unable to keep an ungrateful spouse happy. Wake up every morning and want to hang myself, knowing that I’ll never be able to get out of debt or, possibly working for degenerates with zero social skills. . Killing all of my time in drugs and alcohol.

If you live together instead of marriage, you get better tax breaks, and if your spouse cheats on you, you don't have to give her 50% of your hard earned money.
People have woken up to the draining culture of marriage and family. How it has the potential to be lethal poison for the rest of your life.

But also, all of those things can be disregarded, when a family does what it is suppose to, starting from child age, with education, morals, and sex. ect…

Most people are living on the run, in life. ie… the need for the return to God, in the nation, ect. Not that we where ever a christian country to begin with.
But essentially, if you follow the biblical model and your marriage is for christ. 90% of this stuff is avoidable.

I’ll end rant now.
