There are also some surprises in the ten happiest jobs, as reported a General Social Survey by the National Organization for Research at the University of Chicago. (I am indebted to Lew Perelman in drawing my attention to the Christian Science Monitor article.)

1. Clergy: The least worldly are reported to be the happiest of all . . .

I’ve heard that financial service sales agents actually don’t like their jobs. What fun is cold calling? I knew one guy who said he had to run around like a monkey selling insurance policies. He hated it. And these days few make over 90k.

Has anybody heard anything different? I’m thinking about doing that.

I’m studying computing at university. Guess I’m on the wrong course!

But you could use a higher paid job as a reason to donate more to charity. Then you wouldn’t feel like you’re just living for yourself.

Don’t be discouraged, the jobs could be stressful but there are opportunities that require lots of creativity. In computer related jobs, it really depends on the domain you’re working on (financial, engineering, entertainment, etc).

The Happiest jobs are righteous and love and help people.

I saw that the hated jobs most are related to business, that one should be always true in business is it easy?

You’re right. There’s lots of choice in computing, which includes developing software/hardware to help people with disabilities.
