For anyone who didn’t see this, planten should be converting to Mormonism. It is his “duty” to listen to Joseph Smith as a messenger. If he is true “he will progress”. Mormonism has spread around the world - it must be true! But wait, “the imposter will be killed”. I guess that leaves Joseph Smith out - but wait! I guess that leaves Muhammad out too!!!
He should also be a Jehovah’s Witness . . . I don’t know if Charles Russel was “killed” per se . . . so I guess planten should be a Jehovah’s Witness!

What about Scientology? Ron Hubbard wasn’t killed - he just had a stroke. Shame on planten for not following the latest messenger!!! :tsktsk:

😃

EDIT: Charles Russell totally qualifies - I just read about his death and he wasn’t killed - he was in poor health! Although time-wise I think Hubbard still beats him because he didn’t die until 1986 (I think). Do we have any more recent “messengers” that planten has the duty to follow?

spn, you need not defend that Atheist any more unless you are one of his own kind. What any Catholic has to do with any Atheist?? We need more useful informative posts here about different religions. But Atheist has no faith, no religion. We do not need any (name removed by moderator)ut from an Atheist. What do you say??
Have you thought about the sex change operation? I’ll bet it will feel good wearing a burka in 100 degree heat.

It gets even more ironic when, 9 posts later, planten has this to say:
The Muslism have done much damage to themselves by policy of Crusades ( Religous wars). The opinion now is slightly divided and more Muslims have come to understand the futility of their bloody operations. But it has now become rather political. The Muslims have to end all violence and the church has not to accuse and abuse Muhammad.

Muhammad, the Medinan state and Islamic political ideals
Islamists claim that the origins of Islam as a political movement are to be found in the life and times of Islam’s prophet, Muhammad and his successors, (depending on the Islamist). In 622 CE, in recognition of his claims to prophethood, Muhammad was invited to rule the city of Medina. At the time the local Arab tribes of Aus and Khazraj dominated the city, and were in constant conflict. Medinans saw in Muhammad an impartial outsider who could resolve the conflict. Muhammad and his followers thus moved to Medina, where Muhammad drafted the Medina Charter. This document made Muhammad the ruler, and recognized him as the Prophet of Allah. The laws Muhammad established during his rule, based on the revelations of the Quran and doing of Muhammad, are considered by Muslims to be Sharia or Islamic law, which Islamic movements seek to replicate in the present day. Muhammad gained a widespread following and an army, and his rule expanded first to the city of Mecca and then spread through the Arabian peninsula through a combination of diplomacy and military conquest.

Separation of religion and state
Many Muslims argue that unlike Christianity, Islam does not separate religion from state, and that for example it is apolitical Islam not political Islam that requires explanation and that is an historical fluke of the “shortlived heyday of secular Arab nationalism between 1945 and 1970.”[9]
In contrast Scholar Olivier Roy argues that “a defacto separation between political power” of sultans and emirs and religious power of the caliph was “created and institutionalized … as early as the end of the first century of the hegira,” what has been lacking in the Muslim world is “political thought regarding the autonomy of this space.” No positive law was developed outside of sharia. The sovereign’s religious function was to defend the Islamic community against its enemies, institute the sharia, ensure the public good (maslaha). The state was instrument to enable Muslims to live as good Muslims and Muslims were to obey the sultan if he did so. The legitimacy of the ruler was “symbolized by the right to coin money and to have the Friday prayer (Jumu’ah khutba) said in his name.” [10]

It does not take having faith to be able to evaluate the pros and cons of a particular religion.

This forum allows posts by ANYONE regardless of faith or lack of faith. Neither you or I have the authority to deny atheists the right to post here as long as they follow the rules. And to be honest…this is America where we are free to express our beliefs as long as the rules are followed. I personally support that right for anyone…including those that have no faith or are critical of my faith. Perhaps you should check my friends list.
As long as they follow the rules… Why do they have rules?? To abuse the very senior members (prophets) of other faiths?? That is what was being done. I do not mind decent persons sending decent posts… I do not stop any one from posting. But you know that there are rules for decency and good behavior.

I am sure you would not like if I tell you that church is a complete fraud, or I say something against Jesus… Do you understand. The moderator will not allow it…
Staffsgt has not attacked you personally…but is very critical of islam…as I am. You on the other hand have attacked him personally.
I do not mind if atheist curse or abuse me 100 times. But I would not like that my beloved prophet be abused by an atheist by false accusations. Do you understand?? or you are bent upon advocating for the atheist??

J C, You could not see all the BS of the atheist. It means you catholics are the friends of that atheist, hands in glove. Not one word you could spit upon the BS of the atheist??

It means that you have got that Atheist employed on your team as a side runner to support you in your abusive preaching.

See, here you go again, “an unwarranted barrage against Islam”. Let me fill you in: it wasn’t. Do you have any idea how many people there are here being extremely critical of the Catholic faith? Thousands upon thousands upon thousands, and yet, I have not seen a single Catholic poster react they way you react. Why is it that no one can question Islam? Do you fear that by investigating more into Islam that you will realize that it is a false faith?
I have no fear about Islam. But now I do have many doubts about christianity which is working to take support from an atheist and directly supporting the faithless atheist. Is it not a miracle for Jesus that his followers are very close to an atheist against a muslim??
I will ask you a question, then: Please show me a rebuttal to staffsgt7’s posts numbers 838 and the very last quotation in 834 about the Sharia laws permitting murder, give me the truth. And do not just post a link to a website
.

You ask me a question. You ask me your own question in your own words. Do not borrow from an atheist.
Why do you hate Atheists so much?
I do not hate any one. I believe in love for all and hatred for none. Remember that Jesus had come to spread decency. You follow Jesus please.

Have you thought about the sex change operation? I’ll bet it will feel good wearing a burka in 100 degree heat.
Now that is really abuse! On both sides, would you all please behave? Besides, pseudo-gender changes are utterly immoral, being in direct contradiction to God’s Will.

May I ask Planten what he wants to prove? Perhaps we can go back to square 1 where he started and what he wants to know also.

Planten, can you do this? It appears also, and I noticed that Planten’s vocabulary improved every time he post. The only lacking is his ability to understand. Perhaps sometime in the future he will.

Jay, you are not stopping at any one thing. You are running from pillar to post. That is what comes out of being a Yankee doodle !

I simply told you a truth that BibleOT and Quran both tell us that false prophet will be killed. You made a joke of it… That is what comes out of being a yankee doodle !!

Despite their rather odd secondary beliefs, Mormons are actually Christians(unlike Jehovah’s Witnesses), since they believe in the Cross.

Are Wahhabis now something other than Muslims just because they make Islam look bad? I am aware that they are a somewhat new philosophy (not sure if it is right to call them a “sect”), but they seem more akin to Puritans than say…Gnostics, if I may make an extremely poor analogy to prove a point.

Edit:

Mormons are not Christians. They loathe the cross, seeing the veneration of it as worship of a “dead Messiah” or “dead God”. Mormons on this very board have said such things. They are, additionally, non-Trinitarians, believers in modalism which has been explicitly condemned since the times of the early Church. The only definition by which they could be called “Christian” is by their recognition of someone they call Jesus Christ, although He upholds a substantially different doctrine within Mormonism than is what affirmed by the rest of Christianity. In that way, they are really no different than Muslims, in that they believe that Jesus substantiates their utterly false, heretically-based pseudo-“Christian” religion, with its late-comer prophet and his ridiculous book full of nonsense.

No, I was just giving a succinct response to an immature-sounding question. Forgive me.

Yes, but according to their core doctrines, they are still “true” Christians as far as I am concerned.
