I didn’t read it… but, never, ever, ever trust anything you read in NCR or as Fr. Z likes to call it; National Schismatic Reporter. 🤷

I bet you hate Commonweal as well.

Be sarcastic and role your eyes as much as you like, but the simple truth is that the NCR has been condemned by multiple bishops as heretical and leading people away from the Faith. As such, any responsible Catholic is more than justified in not trusting them as a news source for anything related to the Catholic Church.

As for Commonweal, yes he probably does hate it. Catholics tend to dislike it when people openly advocate for things which are contrary to the Faith. Its funny how that works.

That media outlet is slanted. I wouldn’t trust a word that comes from the National Catholic Distorter.

I’m sure some Bishops find it very irritating. However, other Bishops grant them interviews, so I don’t think the truth is that simple or the sentiment universal.

The article linked to in the OP is excellent. You really should read it.

I lost my charm for Father Z when he started rooting for “liberals” to turn against Pope Francis. I think I’ll stick to Father Barron - whose website doesn’t seem to mind linking to good articles from NCR:

While NCR may occasionally have an article that is genuinely representative of Catholic teaching and reporting consider what these three Bishops have said about NCR in the past:

Bishop Helmsing said in 1968 that NCR had a ‘poisonous character and disregard and denial of the most sacred values of our Catholic faith:’

Bishop Michael Sheridan of Colorado Springs said NCR is ‘an embarrassment to the Catholic Church:’

Bishop Robert Finn has said NCR should not advertise as ‘Catholic:’

Nearly everyone has a skeleton in their cupboard. What matters is not what one may have done or been like in an earlier stage of life but what one has learned and how one is living now.

I think that Pope Francis is so far showing the world that we have indeed got ourselves a humble, caring leader. One who is close to God. One who knows what the catholic faith wants. One who knows how to move forward in the word of Our Lord.

Lets all stand with him and help him on his journey as we all belong to the same big family that loves and adores Our Lord…The Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

God Bless Pope Francis

And just last March, Cardinal Seán sat down with them for an interview:

John Allen is really good.👍

Or the National Catholic Distorter.
I have never found it to distort the news - at least nowhere on the scale of LifeSiteNews, which can’t seem to simply tell a straight story, but cherry-picks facts to suit their agenda.
