A science fiction book I read once dealt with this topic, that not all interstellar species had fallen from grace, like we here on earth, but had passed the test and hence had no original or Adamic sin and no need of a savior.

If interstellar travel is impossible, then that ensures that there will be no commingling of the fallen and unfallen races. They are effectively segregated from one another and one cannot pollute the other!

I presume in that case each fallen race would have their own version of Christ.
Wouldn’t multiple Christ’s conflict with the Trinity? And moreover, the idea of multiple Christ’s takes away the whole notion of the unique love which Jesus is said to have bestowed upon mankind. Case in point: if I propose to a woman I love and don’t tell her that hours before, I proposed to a dozen more women who I also love, would that be love?

The idea of God shedding His blood for several species again and again is insulting to God. Not to mention that those other species would have gotten their own Scripture which would certainly be in conflict with our own; making God contradictory. I’m sorry, but from a Christian standing, if you’re to believe in aliens, you must regard them as akin to the animals on Earth in terms of their “soul”; albeit more intelligent.

I thought of multiple Christs, all right, but I don’t think it applies because after all at each Mass there are multiple Christs, each on the tongue of the multiple communicants. And we don’t worry about that (some Protestants do). And since Jesus bestowed unique love upon mankind, that is, one of a kind love, then the other fallen species would have its own unique kind of love. A father and mother love each of their children but in a unique way.

Of course, there were those here on earth, such as the docetists, that thought of God shedding His blood even once was insulting to God, so they didn’t believe He did.

In regards to Scripture certainly another species would have their own Scripture, or revelation, but it would naturally be a history of their species and how it fell, just like ours is a history of our species and how it fell. Not necessarily in conflict with ours, because the basic characteristics of God would be the same.

Of course, you’re right, it is possible that alien species, even if as intelligent as we, could be without souls, and hence just intelligent beasts. For them, there would be no such thing as fallen or unfallen; redemption couldn’t apply to them for their would be nothing to redeem.

If there is such a thing as unfalled races, they wouldn’t have scripture because they wouldn’t need it.

Of course it’s all moot because God has fixed it so the races never meet.

Of course, you’re right. I don’t want to somehow “refute” the position of those faithful Christians who believe in E.T.'s. Call me jealous! I just want our species to get all of God’s attention; call me petty. 😛

I understand. Actually, I’m that way too. And since I didn’t notice that the world ended yesterday, it is my personal opinion that we’re supposed to expand into space and settle it. It’s our species destiny. God created a lot of real estate out there, that otherwise would go to waste.
