I will send you a private message. I’m not sure I want to share this publicly.
It is and that group discussed in that thread are heretical. The Catholic Church does not believe in reincarnation …forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=183566
this is interesting
Do you go by your assumption to know what Catholic women think? Most Catholics who practice their faith, would say we are to imitate Jesus Christ.Have you ever considered which Biblical person you would most like to be like? (other than Jesus) I expect many Catholic women would say the Virgin Mary.
So you by your assumption, Mary did not consent to God’s plan for salvation. Mary did co-operated with God, by proclaiming, “I am the handmaid of the Lord; be it done onto me according to your word.” With her consent, the Word became flesh.Mary was a good and faithful servant. She is not co-redeemer, nor does she assist Jesus in destroying evil.
So you tell me I should stop calling Mary blessed.A better way to honor her would be to stop sharing credit with her for what God accomplishes.
God does indeed do most of the Word. Mary by herself could not do anything. She was a Jewish little girl and didn’t understand that how she could be with child. Yet, with faith, she accepted the God’s will. She agree to become the Mother of Jesus, the Son of the Living God.I have, or so I am told, a give of prayer. I do not let people give me credit for things working out the way I ask. I am only doing what God has asked of me - praying and believing - it is God who does the work.
We honor Mary because of her relationship with her son. I don’t think you know the mind of Mary as you ought. Catholics love God first, and Mary second. Because God is our creator, all worship and adoration is due only to God, who is One Lord, and One mediator.I really don’t believe Mary would be happy about all the praise and credit some Catholics give her.
is this the real reason for this thread or did you already know the answer? what does your heart say about mary? anything?Catholics teach that Mary, mother of Jesus, was born without original sin.
What does the Catholic church say about whether or not The Virgin Mary ever sinned during her lifetime?
Mary loves all Christians, and she want nothing more than to have the children of God to stop offending her son, and to give the glory and honor do to her Son, Jesus Christ.but interesting. i’ve been on the other side of this and sometimes its hard to hear the message because it’s too loud. you know what i mean? Ginger2 started this thread for some reason and i pray God uses it to soften her a little. but we need to keep in mind that Mary loves Ginger2 because Jesus loves her and we too should love her 'cause Jesus loves her.
Only one of these is a quote from the Book of Sirach (Ecclesiasticus as it was formerly called, not to be confused with Ecclesiastes). The first one is, Sirach 24:5, and it is quoted by Pope Leo XIII in Augustissimae Virginis Mariae. The SECOND is NOT from Sirach, it is from the same Papal document (paragraph 4). Here is the PROPER context:“I came out of the mouth of the Most High, the first-born before all creatures” (Ecclus. xxiv., 5).
“To this Divine Mother we have offered the flowers of the month of May;…” (Ecclus. xxiv., 23).
As for the Psalter of the Blessed Virgin, you can find it here. It is over-the-top in my opinion – many of the Psalms differ from their Scriptural counterparts by a simple substitution of the person of Mary for God. But, as I have said before, a) it ends each psalm with the Gloria Patri, and b) this was a saint’s private devotion, it is not part of the liturgy of the Church. To this Divine Mother we have offered the flowers of the month of May; to her we would have also fruit-bearing October dedicated with especial tenderness of devotion. It is fitting that both parts of the year should be consecrated to her who said: “My flowers are the fruit of honour and riches” (Ecclus. xxiv., 23).
That clears it up nicely. Thanks!!To Ginger2, jmcrae, et. al. This is about naming source materials for the ease of this discussion. …]
Ginger2,Caritas of Burmingham. These people pose as faithful Catholics and claim that The Virgin Mary is appearing to thousands to give her messages. Some Catholics are falling for it and the Church does nothing to condemn their blaspheme.
Here are some statements made by “Our Lady”, followed by Bible verses.
“I invite you to dedicate your life to me.” - 11/27/1986
The Bible says we should commit our lives to God:
Pro 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
Jam 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Rom. 6: 22 -23 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Jos 24:15 … as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Nowhere in Scripture are we told to dedicate our lives to Mary!!
“Do not be an image of Satan, but be my image.” - 1/30/1986
The Bible says we are made in God’s image:
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his [own] image,
Gen 9:6 for in the image of God made he man.
“Today I am calling you to give me your heart so I can change it to be like mine.” - MAY 15, 1986
The Bible says will change our hearts:
Psa 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
2Cr 5:17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature:
Jer 32:39 And I will give them one heart, and one way,
Eze 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you;
“the way of salvation that I am offering you through these apparitions.” - 7/25/1995
Who offers us salvation?
Jhn 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
“I am the mediator between you and God.” - JULY 17, 1986
The Bible says there is only one mediator:
1Ti 2:5 For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1Jo 2:1 And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
Rom 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints
Rom 8:34 [It is] Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Nowhere in Scripture are we told Mary is our mediator.
The Virgin Mary would not contradict Scripture.
" if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them." (Isa 8:20)
“Our Lady” is not one in the same as the Virgin Mary. She is an imposter.
