This is carried over from Is it Bad to Like Islam Spiritually, to which I noted; Since you brought up this proclamation, I will start a new thread. The Thread will be to the consideration of prophesy. Regards Tony
My friend, you are switching the subject. I will say we do have in common no body here worships John the Baptist or Elijah. What we do not have common is the worship of our LORD JESUS. Please tell me where JESUS said that, would you ? Do you not find it odd that Mohammed has a grave while JESUS doesn’t ? JESUS performed all the miracles and healing while Mohammed had none. Why does Mohammed not get the glory? JESUS mentions Jerusalem so many times yet I believe it is never mentioned by name once in the Quran? The entire OT was about the coming of Messiah. Just who would that Messiah be, friend Servant? He is the one we will all bow before and confess He is LORD ! Even so, come LORD JESUS ! My friend, will you be sure about eternity and ask him to be your LORD and Savior? Please pray to Allah about it. Then, if you don’t get an answer for some time, please pray to GOD in JESUS’ name to reveal it to you. You know, I have a healthy envy of you. Muslims are the ones i hear are most often having dreams and visions of JESUS. These are the last days! Ref Acts 2:17; Joel 2:28. Amen!
The Church has its ideas on this subject and thus this discussion will focus on why these Prophesy’s were so inspirational to many people of the time and eventually led to the formation of quite a few new Churches based in the Love of Christ.

In Daniel and Revelation it talks about the Last Days and it gives time frames in veiled and hidden meanings. Many have tried to unveil the meaning and of course in Daniel one can use these Numbers to prove the Mission and Martyrdom of Christ, to which many have.

With these same numbers in the early 1800’s a Baptist William Miller when calculating again these numbers came up with a date of the return of Christ between 21 March 1843 and 21 March 1844. Miller became convinced that the 2,300-day period started in 457 B.C, thus was to end in 1843. The rest is now History of first the SDA Church and then others including the Jehovah Witnesses - Link en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Disappointment

Also in Daniel and Revelation we have, Times Times and Half a time, 42 Months, 1260 Days and One Thousand Two Hundred and Three score days, which all equate to 1260 days.

It was determined from the Bible that the Bible had 360 Day Years, 30 Day Months and each Day represented a year.

Thus the Prophesy regarding 1260 days was in Fact 1260 years. This was then used to again calculate other Prophesy from other significant dates.

1844 thus became a Great Disappointment for many and it became obvious to them they must have missed something and looked at nothing but recalculating Dates. After all “Every Eye” shall see.

What they did not know and a lot still do not know is that the Year 1844 was also the Year 1260 in the Holy Land. Had they known this would they have looked at it in a different way?

Now people do know this, will they also now look at it in a different way?

I wonder if they put this event into the mix, if it also would have sparked more interest in the year 1844

On May 24, 1844, the line was officially opened as Morse sent the now-famous words, “What hath God wrought,” from the Supreme Court chamber in the basement of the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., to the B&O’s Mount Clare Station in Baltimore.[17] Annie Ellsworth chose these words from the Bible (Numbers 23:23); her father, U.S. Patent Commissioner Henry Leavitt Ellsworth, had championed Morse’s invention and secured early funding for it. His telegraph could transmit thirty characters per minute - Opening the way for all modern communication.

Amazingly the Day before the World Changed forever. 😃 👍 🤷

So lets leave it there and God Bless all - Regards Tony

Thus is there other pointers to why Daniel and Revelation are so amazing. If one takes a look at other religions, it soon becoames apparent that the mid 1800’s were indeed a special time, why it was special I guess we must all decide upon for ourselves

From Zoroastrian

“When a thousand two hundred and some years have passed from the inception of the religion of the Arabian [Most probably Islam and the Coming of Muhammed] and the overthrow of the kingdom of Iran and the degradation of the followers of My religion, a descendant of the Iranian kings will be raised up as a Prophet.” - ZOROASTER - Dinkird

“When the people of Iran will become wicked and do evils … at that time a Man shall rise up from the Arabs, through whose disciples they will lose the crown, the throne, the land, and their religion, and be destroyed … By the lapse of one thousand years, after the establishment of the Arabic Religion, His followers will have already spoiled their Faith so much by splitting up themselves into sects that, were it to be presented to its Founder, He would not recognize the same. Thus shalt thou see the Iranians that they shall not listen to any Wise Man. Were some one to say the Truth, they shall come out with weapons to fight with Him. The worst among the evil deeds of Iranians is that they have killed the One Who, though from amongst themselves, was the Sovereign Lord of all the Angelic Attributes.” - Dasàstìr-Asmànì’ (The Book of Heavenly Commandments)

Very Interesting, lets see what we can find from other sources as well! 👍

God Bless and Regards Tony

From a Buddha Link

Buddhist: “The Coming of Maitreya Buddha”

Buddhist prophecies predict a time when the world will suffer from the absence of Dharma and therefore a decline in morality and an increase in ignorance. The time, however, will come to an end with the coming of Maitreya Bodhisattva, the future Buddha, who will appear on Earth and teach Dharma to the people of the world and this will enable the emergence of a new spiritual world order.

The Prophecy of Shambala (Buddhist, BEF 700 CE):
“Drought, famine, disease and war will sweep the world… Nation will fight nations, and the larger will devour the smaller.People will no longer have any religion to which they can turn for solace or liberation: the doctrines of materialism will overwhelm their minds and drive them to struggle for their own selfish ends. The lust for power and wealth will prevail over teachings of compassion and truth.”

The Coming of Maitreya Buddha: From Buddha Gautama
“I am not the first Buddha who has come upon the Earth, nor will I be the last. In due time another Buddha will rise in the world, a holy one, a supreme enlightened one, endowed with auspicious wisdom embracing the universe, an incomparable leader of men, a ruler of gods and mortals. He will reveal to you the same eternal truths, which I have taught you. He will establish his law [Religion], glorious in its origins, glorious at the climax and glorious at the goal in the spirit and the letter. He will proclaim a righteous life wholly perfect and pure, such as I now proclaim. His disciples will number many thousands, while mine number many hundreds. He will be known as Maitreya.”

Interesting thoughts, especially the “Buddhist, BEF 700 CE”
