This is carried over from Is it Bad to Like Islam Spiritually, to which I noted; Since you brought up this proclamation, I will start a new thread. The Thread will be to the consideration of prophesy. Regards Tony
In Daniel and Revelation it talks about the Last Days and it gives time frames in veiled and hidden meanings. Many have tried to unveil the meaning and of course in Daniel one can use these Numbers to prove the Mission and Martyrdom of Christ, to which many have.
With these same numbers in the early 1800’s a Baptist William Miller when calculating again these numbers came up with a date of the return of Christ between 21 March 1843 and 21 March 1844. Miller became convinced that the 2,300-day period started in 457 B.C, thus was to end in 1843. The rest is now History of first the SDA Church and then others including the Jehovah Witnesses - Link en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Disappointment
Also in Daniel and Revelation we have, Times Times and Half a time, 42 Months, 1260 Days and One Thousand Two Hundred and Three score days, which all equate to 1260 days.
It was determined from the Bible that the Bible had 360 Day Years, 30 Day Months and each Day represented a year.
Thus the Prophesy regarding 1260 days was in Fact 1260 years. This was then used to again calculate other Prophesy from other significant dates.
1844 thus became a Great Disappointment for many and it became obvious to them they must have missed something and looked at nothing but recalculating Dates. After all “Every Eye” shall see.
What they did not know and a lot still do not know is that the Year 1844 was also the Year 1260 in the Holy Land. Had they known this would they have looked at it in a different way?
Now people do know this, will they also now look at it in a different way?
I wonder if they put this event into the mix, if it also would have sparked more interest in the year 1844
On May 24, 1844, the line was officially opened as Morse sent the now-famous words, “What hath God wrought,” from the Supreme Court chamber in the basement of the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., to the B&O’s Mount Clare Station in Baltimore.[17] Annie Ellsworth chose these words from the Bible (Numbers 23:23); her father, U.S. Patent Commissioner Henry Leavitt Ellsworth, had championed Morse’s invention and secured early funding for it. His telegraph could transmit thirty characters per minute - Opening the way for all modern communication.
Amazingly the Day before the World Changed forever.

So lets leave it there and God Bless all - Regards Tony
The Church has its ideas on this subject and thus this discussion will focus on why these Prophesy’s were so inspirational to many people of the time and eventually led to the formation of quite a few new Churches based in the Love of Christ. My friend, you are switching the subject. I will say we do have in common no body here worships John the Baptist or Elijah. What we do not have common is the worship of our LORD JESUS. Please tell me where JESUS said that, would you ? Do you not find it odd that Mohammed has a grave while JESUS doesn’t ? JESUS performed all the miracles and healing while Mohammed had none. Why does Mohammed not get the glory? JESUS mentions Jerusalem so many times yet I believe it is never mentioned by name once in the Quran? The entire OT was about the coming of Messiah. Just who would that Messiah be, friend Servant? He is the one we will all bow before and confess He is LORD ! Even so, come LORD JESUS ! My friend, will you be sure about eternity and ask him to be your LORD and Savior? Please pray to Allah about it. Then, if you don’t get an answer for some time, please pray to GOD in JESUS’ name to reveal it to you. You know, I have a healthy envy of you. Muslims are the ones i hear are most often having dreams and visions of JESUS. These are the last days! Ref Acts 2:17; Joel 2:28. Amen!
