God is supernatural and supernatural things by definition contradict most of known science.
Uh, no. Supernatural entities cannot possibly contradict science, which deals strictly with the natural world. What you said is like saying music contradicts bowling.

You were saying that you are going to play the odds and believe in something that might not be true in order to secure eternal life. But don’t you think it’s also possible that god would be angry at you being intentionally dumb just to appease him?
Interesting that you should wonder what God would think if God doesn’t exist…

However, to respond to your point, perhaps I didn’t express myself well. There are no “odds” when it comes to my faith. True, there are many other religions. But since I am firm in mine, I trust what God says. I could never claim to know the mind of God, but I do know that He wants me to be obedient, and to believe in Him. This doesn’t make me dumb, it makes me faithful.

What if god hates delusional people? Isn’t that more likely then him wanting you to forgo the brain he gave you?
Have you heard of St. Anselm, “Faith seeking understanding”?
God is supernatural and supernatural things by definition are incredibly unlikely to exist.
 By who’s definition? That’s hogwash. Show me a reference (objective) where supernatural is defined as such.

Atheists call theists delusional because not only do you have no evidence for God but you then go ahead and assume how he would act and what traits he would have, who he would smite and who he loves. You make these assuptions based on a 2000 year old book where you need faith not only in the supernatural but in the men or organisation who wrote it i.e the catholic church. Even with all the absurd claims like a 6000 year old earth and a global flood you still persist to believe excusing all the errors as metaphors or misinterpretations.

Its not delusional to have belief that there may have been of a creator that started the big bang, but nobodys 100% sure of that because theres no evidence! to then attach a personality to it and have a relationship with it is DELUSIONAL!!
But i dont blame anyone for being delusional because life is lonely and scary and the thought of something looking out for us is comforting.
Hi melbourne_guy,

What solid objective evidence do atheists have for proving the non-existence of God?

Nita

How do you explain the many outside of nature healings or some of the incorrupt remains of some of the saints?
There are none. Care to answer any of the points I made, or point out where I am mistaken about Christian teachings? It’s very easy to just say “you’re ignorent” and walk away, but I’m willing to be it’s more likely because you have nothing to say and it’s easier for you to be closed minded then to admit that you are wrong.

Science by its own definition has a limited say about the universe. That’s why we have philosophy and metaphysics.
Philosophy is a superset of science and metaphysics is a subset of philosophy. But it’s logic that dictates that the supernatural does not exist.

I am not sure if you are playing or serious. If you are serious here are some compelling vidoes.

The Existence of God Part 1

Listen to all 8 parts.
No, if you have compelling arguements lay them out. I’m not going to argue with you indirectly through someone else. (Edited)

And no, I’m not kidding. There are no compelling proofs of god, and the vast majority of the scientific world agrees with me. If you have any it’s news to the rest of the world.

I’m sorry, but that makes no sense whatsoever.
I’m sorry, but it’s reality. If you can’t follow it you’re delusional. Fairies, ghosts, goblins, unicorns don’t exist. Those that claim they exist in some “land of magic” we lable insane and treat them appropriately. So it is perfect rational to do the same to christians who believe that eating the body of a zombie carpender negates anything they do wrong.

Uh, no. Supernatural entities cannot possibly contradict science, which deals strictly with the natural world. What you said is like saying music contradicts bowling.
No, the supernatural is not used in science because the supernatural is logically contradictory.

Interesting that you should wonder what God would think if God doesn’t exist…
I’m not, I’m saying if you are going to run on that logic, maybe you should.
However, to respond to your point, perhaps I didn’t express myself well. There are no “odds” when it comes to my faith. True, there are many other religions. It makes you delusional, as I pointed out in my first post.

God is supernatural and supernatural things by definition are incredibly unlikely to exist.
According to whom? You? well i had better get on the band wagon and join your club of assumers. AA? Assumers anonymous?

I was raised with no faith. Became an alcoholic and drug addict thief at an early age.
Stole for a living, did two years in jail after a boys home. Was homosexual from as early as I could remember. Did everything to try to escape these things, but nothing human, no scientist, no drugs, no nothing human helped.

I said a prayer one day when I was at the end of the option reduction process, and decided to ask God, specifically Jesus christ to forgive me for the wrongs I had done and come into my life, and within 15 seconds, the desires for all those things left me, and my whole thought process, everything that previously drove me as a human, reversed in the blink of an eye.

The ONLY remedy for alcoholism and drug addiction, is of a spiritual nature, God if you will. proven by ages of examples.

Now THAT is supernatural reality shared by millions and millions of people. You sir are in the vast minority.

yours is the god of reason, insufficient at best.

  1. supernatural forces and events and beings collectively; “She doesn’t believe in the supernatural”
Usage: Supernatural, Preternatural. Preternatural signifies beside nature, and supernatural, above or beyond nature. What is very greatly aside from the ordinary course of things is preternatural; what is above or beyond the established laws of the universe is supernatural. The dark day which terrified all Europe nearly a century ago was preternatural; the resurrection of the dead is supernatural. “That form which the earth is under at present is preternatural, like a statue made and broken again.” --T. Burnet. “Cures wrought by medicines are natural operations; but the miraculous ones wrought by Christ and his apostles were supernatural.” --Boyle.

That is supernatural, whether it be, that is either not in the chain of natural cause and effect, or which acts on the chain of cause and effect in nature, from without the chain. --Bushnell.

We must not view creation as supernatural, but we do look upon it as miraculous. --McCosh.

The supernatural, whatever is above and beyond the scope, or the established course, of the laws of nature. “Nature and the supernatural.” --H. Bushnell.

  1. not existing in nature or subject to explanation according to natural laws; not physical or material; “supernatural forces and occurrences and beings” [ant: natural]
Okay, now what is natural?

I’ll speed this up a bit.

The natural is the percievable world. Anything that isn’t part of something we can percieve or might percieve in the future isn’t part of reality. Therefore, anythign that is supernatural isn’t part of reality. God contridicts everything we know about how the world functions.

I have just wittnesed one of the stupidist atheist youtube videos ever. It’s by a ridiculous group called “The Rational Response Squad.” In the video they so harshly preach that ANYONE who believes in ANY God or talks to any type of deity is absolutely delusional and suffers from a mental disorder, and they quote psycologists who agree. Has anyone else ever heard of this group?

Please inform me how religious people are delusional? I’m not talking about those who blow themselves up, but those who live a moraly good life as Christ taught on the sermon on the mount. Or please explain how we’re “irrational?” I couldn’t understand these two genius’.
There is a new movement afoot to discredit people who believe in a God. It’s the so called atheists “coming out of the closet” campaign. They feel that they have more power if they align themselves with a group. They come to this site because they know that “Christians” will try to “save” them. They are trolls in the purest sense of the word. Ignore them and they will go somewhere else to get their attention. They feel that belief in a “God” has been “pushed down their throats”, and they have had to suffer through being “force fed” religion. They want to be recognized as a group which demands rights. They demand the right to be a group of people who do not believe in God. Funny, we always knew they were there so I don’t know what more they could want. They have their right to not believe just as we have a right to believe. They have made their choice but they feel that their “rights” have been trampled upon. They think that religious celebrations such as Christmas or Easter, Passover, Rahmadan, etc., are an affront to their “rights” to their belief in unbelief. Or whatever. They say they want to live their lives and raise their children atheist without any influence from any “deified” group. That kind of insistence reeks of delusion and will never “happen” because they already intrinsically have that. All they have to do is ignore us just as we should ignore them. Sure, you can secretly pray for their souls if you wish but if you tell them you are doing this they will react like a deranged pit bull with aids. Sure they are free to do their own thing, as everyone is. Yet they resent any opinion that goes against what they believe - or don’t believe. Just as satan is coming to the end of his era of spiritual darkness and is becoming more desperate, these “Atheists” or whatever they are feel desperate too. They want attention to their cause yet they will maintain that they just want to be recognized without any prozeltyzing. Yet the truth of this movement is that satan is behind it. he uses these “sheep” to confuse the faithful and to attempt to create doubt within the church. You can tell without much discernment which posts are inspired by the “father of all lies”. Treat them like a virus. Don’t open them, don’t view them, and don’t give them any of your energy. Instead focus the “Prayer of St. Michael” on their ridiculous posts and move on with the “armor of God.”

It sounds like another provocative group with little substance. It’s best to ignore, especially since they seem to lack some pretty simple standards of respect and dignity usually afforded to ones’ opponents . Oh well 🤷

Sure, you can secretly pray for their souls if you wish but if you tell them you are doing this they will react like a deranged pit bull with aids.
pray for us, and we’ll think for you 🙂
Sure they are free to do their own thing, as everyone is. Yet they resent any opinion that goes against what they believe - or don’t believe.
Its not illegal to resent opinions, makes us a bit angry that
creation can be taught as a science in some schools.
Just as satan is coming to the end of his era of spiritual darkness and is becoming more desperate, these “Atheists” or whatever they are feel desperate too.
Signs of skitzophrenia, some bodys always out to get you.
They want attention to their cause yet they will maintain that they just want to be recognized without any prozeltyzing.
Yes every group wants attention to its cause.
Yet the truth of this movement is that satan is behind it.
Yes, everything you dont agree with satan’s behind, Islam=satan
Mormonism =satan, you do realise how ridiculous you sound.
he uses these “sheep” to confuse the faithful and to attempt to create doubt within the church.
Wow nice theory, did you come up with that all by yourself! i should give u a gold star for having such a great imagination.
Don’t open them, don’t view them, and don’t give them any of your energy.
In other words dont debate them because you may have to use logic and evidence something thats hard to come by in religion. Just stick to debating islam or judaism, its really easy to discredit 2000 year old books and ideals.

skitzophrenia,

You might be a thinker, but you sure are not a speller.
