The diocese claims he is not living in Jacksonville. Someone is lying.

First it was gracious of the diocese of Salina and the St. Fidelis friary to host him. Secondly it was good of Mr. McCarrick to leave them now so as not to expose them to the storm of media that will certainly be unleashed with the pending release of the Vatican report on him. As for what I or anyone else thinks should happen to him, those points are moot as he is 89 years old and nearing the day when he has to answer to God himself. I will merely pray for the man.

Amen EricF. The man is old, sick, and has had his face plastered on every media outlet in the world. He’s not a danger to the public at this point. He will no doubt be deceased or living in a nursing home soon.

I would hope if he’s living in a residence with other priests who’ve been kicked out for similar offenses, there’s some kind of security in place to deal with media knocking at the door. This seemed to be absent in his previous residence at the friary - wasn’t there one news story where an elderly friar let the media in and they proceeded to interview McCarrick on the spot? That alone suggested to me that McCarrick needed to go someplace else where there is a better doorkeeper.

KMC:
Perhaps he be housed in prison
I think this is a very uncharitable thing to say.
NO! Is is the just thing to say. Even Bishop Robert Barron, in his book “Letter to a Suffering Church” said this of McCarrick: “(McCarrick) had been a serial abuser throughout his clerical career.” He goes on to say how McCarrick sexually abused a boy just prior to Midnight Mass in the sacristy of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Barron goes on to say that as a bishop and archbishop, McCarrick “preyed especially on seminarians, those young men over whom he had almost complete control.”

All sexual abusers should be in prison. I stand by my words: McCarrick deserves prison.
