No name calling. :tsktsk:
I’m calling myself a simpleton. I wanted to get it across that I am in no way an expert on these matters and it’s simply the opinion of a simpleton.

Off the top of my head go to the facebook page of Fr. Richard Heilman and read the comments. Sometimes the National Catholic Register is good for some borderline Sedevacantism. If Church Militant has a facebook page that would be a good place to look as well.

Personally, I stand with the Pope, my opinion is that he is correct. This debate about divorce/remarriage/receiving communion doesn’t affect me at all. If I was in that situation I would go and talk to my priest which is what Pope Francis would suggest. I would accept his answer. That’s my opinion.
When I think of people opposed to the Church, I think of the National Catholic reporter, Catholics for Choice, the Nuns on the Bus, and the LCWR. I guess we have different views of what “opposing the teachings of the Church” actually means.

Regardless, that’s a non-answer you gave and you know it. People are questioning how the requirements for reception of communion can be different depending on your region, and why the Vatican will not respond to questions with clarity.

The fact that a particular emphasis of the Church doesn’t impact you is fine; perhaps simply bowing out and letting others who believe it is a matter of great import discuss it. Why chime in on an issue that is apparently no concern of yours? It is of great significance to many others, including many Cardinals and Bishops. I don’t think asking the same questions they ask would imply disloyalty, do you?

I wasn’t speaking of dissent in general but the anti-Pope attitudes that are infecting the Church. The progressive Catholics are happy with Francis for the most part (with exceptions of course).

I don’t have an opinion on it but I do trust that Francis knows what he is doing. I chimed in because I see a lot of mistrust when I don’t think it’s warranted.

When I was in an irregular situation, I spoke to my priest. I was able to straighten it out, thank goodness. Not sure what I would have done otherwise, I don’t like to think about that.

The problem that this simpleton sees is that some Catholics have a problem with the Vatican.
They see a problem because there is a problem. Being in denial would not make the problem go away. Even mainstream Catholic commentators are waking up.

There is a problem because there always is, but it is not with Church teaching.

If you see ‘a lot of mistrust’ in quarters where traditionally and very lately there was only perfectly reliable veneration and devotion to the Vatican, perhaps you might want to consider that there is more to this matter than “some Catholics have a problem with the Vatican”?..Just a thought, from one simpletone to another.
