Well, they said one thing i agree with:

“Never underestimate the power of human beings to get things wrong.”

Sheesh, even when God hands us truth on a platter some people don’t get it.

There is no doubt that the Bible contradicts itself and we have to choose what we believe. And many of the people I have met who claim the Bible is literally true do not apply this to every verse. Some “picking and choosing” of verses, applying different weights to different parts of the text, is inevitable.

Fortunately, we as Catholics have tradition to rely upon to help in this process.

And, we have the Magisterium, protected by God the Holy Spirit, to rely on, rather than a group of academics seeking fame and laurels among thier peers.

Why would we Catholics care what Methodist and Episcopal “theologians” think anyway? If they had credibility, they’d be Catholic in the first place. 🙂
