That is right actually.I believe it is because it came from our Lords side. I will get back to you on that.

what do you suppose the apostles were drinking on Pentecost when the crowd accused the of being drunk on new wine? and yes these forums are the HQ for ADD I defy you to find any thread on any forum that does not go off topic before the bottom of page one. On TradCat it only takes 3 posts. Of coure if we laid off the grape juice we might be more focused

obviously a Purple Jesus ( mtn dew + grape juice) induced Rant after a 48 hour Marathon Bible study class.

Just wondering how long before the fanatical Pro-test-ants pick-up & run with it? 😃

SO why do Protestants use grape juice? Any real reasons?

Freshman year in college I had a Methodist and two Episcoplian room mates. The Episcopalians claimed that when Methodists broke away they put one of their members in charge of the wine cellar. Turned out he was alcoholic and drank it all up. To cover up they switched to grape juice.

I was strictly neutral on the matter.

The Priest puts water with the wine because of what came out of Jesus side. That is the real reason as far as I know. The sign of the new covenant. Our Lord giving us his blood to drink.

Many things in the Mass have a double purpose, originating as a practical measure, but only those things that immediately or quickly developed a deeper significance were kept.

Thats the reason it was explained to me very well but I forget 😛
