Eh? I am a little lost here. Could you be slightly more clear, please?
Basically if I could give my fertility assuming I am actually fertile
to some that is not fertile and wants to be I would do so.

Sounds like you lost your cool.
This was completely uncalled for. Your rudeness and lack of charity exudes from this post, as it does from most of your other posts.

Are you even capable of making a post that does not either insult people or take a thread off topic? Somehow I doubt it. If you cannot contribute positively to a conversation, please refrain from posting.

As for the article and those who choose to have themselves sterilized, my initial response is that it is certainly one of the most selfish things a person can do. How very sad for these people.
Gee, can’t fathom how someone could misconstrue your calm, balanced demeanor.

The part where you said you have no use for your fertility. You are married, why do you feel you have no use for your fertility? That was the part I was having trouble following.

Because neither me or my husband want kids. So I donlt have any use for the ablity to have kids.

I am sorry you were offended by this. But the way it was described, and the fact that she was banned from the forum, sounds to be like she lost her cool (I think she knows this deep down inside). There is nothing uncharitable about this.

Now could you please refrain from calling those who choose not to have children as “shelfish”. That is a very silly, and most uncharitable thing to say.

Yeah, they’re not even kosher!

Sorry, but it is selfish. If you find that offensive, then the problem lies with you.

Which comes as no surprise to the people who read your posts.

I will give you that often the reasons are selfish, but often there are unselfish reasons as well. I know I have both. People who want to be parents have both as well I am sure. However simply choosing to not have children isn;t selfish. No more then chosing to have children is selfish either.

I’m not sure how the first and second sentence hang together.

Are you warming up to to “spit the dummy” on this thread as well.

i.e. call anybody who doesn’t agree with you as “hateful and anti catholic”. That *seems *to be your modus operandi.

So now you are stalking me online. How surprising.

Well, since you are anti-Catholic, you do not belong on a “Family Life” forum on a Catholic web site…

If you continue to stalk me online, I will report you to the moderators.

rpp, are you actually serious? I feel like I’m watching an adult temper tantrum here. I just need to point out a couple of things:
  1. On both this thread and the thread about 9/11, thomfra posted BEFORE you. So if anyone seems to be stalking anyone, it’s you stalking him…but of course, no normal person would equate “posting a response” with “stalking”
  2. How is thomfra “anti-Catholic”? I’ve seen nothing in his posts that support this accusation, and I challenge you to back this up. I have a sneaking suspicion that this name calling is just that…name calling, and without just evidence.

It is against forum rules, and it is unethical, to disclose the content of Private Messages. So I am sorry, I am unable to respond further to your posts.

I stand by what I have posted regarding this poster.

Fair enough. There’s clearly more to this than is known to the rest of us. I’m just a little bit confused as to why, if this is a matter of PRIVATE messages, you’ve chossen to PUBLICLY threaten to call the mods on thomfra…

rrp. I haven’t the time, nor the inclination to “stalk you” on the internet.

I most certainly haven’t sent you, or anybody else **any ** private messages. I am happy for the moderator to confirm this.

Although some of my posts may come across as a bit forthright and (maybe a bit impolite sometimes), I am not anti-catholic. But yes, I do disagree with some positions the RCC holds.

At the very least I am being honest. You have chosen to start telling lies for one reason or another.

Wow. That article is so sad. People today have such a hatred of children that it isn’t even funny. People see children as either mistakes, designer products, or as a means to get welfare or something else. It’s disgusting really. I thank God that I have a boyfriend who wants to have a large family.

I don’t know. I hear this kind of thing said a lot on this forum.

I am sure there are some bad parents out there. But all in all I would say that most parents love their children, for whatever reason they had them. It’s the natural thing to do after all.

I certainly haven’t met any people who chose not to have children because they “hate them”.

Even in countries with very low birth rates (such as Italy), you are greeted like royalty when you have a baby with you. They *love *kids!!!

In any human society, children are of paramount importance.
Children deserve good homes, and parents who both want and love them.

For these reasons, I believe that people who do not want children, should not have them.

Sterilization is effective, permanent birth control, that makes sense for people who want to be childfree.

It is the couples who love children, who should have families.

I agree with this statement … to a degree. Somehow, it makes me uncomfortable thinking that sterilization is OK for other people. (never for myself, thanks!) Am I making any sense??
It’s not ever going to happen in my family (me or DH), but I don’t think it’s my place to tell another person that it’s wrong (although I think it is).

I’m confusing myself now …
