Heavenly Father,
In this time of need, strengthen him. You are our strength and our shield; You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. I know, Father, that Your eyes go to and fro throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts long for You. The body grows weary, but my hope is in You to renew his strength. Help him not to fear, for You are with him. Help him not to be dismayed or overwhelmed, for You are our God. I know You will strengthen him and help him; that You will uphold him with Your righteous hand. Even as the shadows of illness cover him, let him feel the comfort of Your strength. Thy will be done. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.

Amen.
Lord Jesus, hear our prayers for po18guy and his family. Provide them comfort and love while they go through this difficult time. Amen

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now, and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.

I find that my daughter has been at it again! This is on the other thread, but o update everyone, there is basically zero hope that a matching donor will be found anywhere on earth. This is option four. It does not bother me that this will likely never happen, due to what is known as “graft versus host disease”. Anti-rejection drugs must be taken for a minimum of one year, or my body will attack itself. Option three is: I can supply my own stem cells for a transplant - provided that I can be made sufficiently cancer free at the time of harvesting. This involves a high dose of full-body radiation, and my brain will be affected as well as every cell in my body - even to the point of mutating into another cancer type. Option two is: I can also go on a recently approved chemotherapy agent for my type of cancer. It might just work, but again, it carries the downside of the damage it also does. Option one is to stay on the experimental drug that I am currently on. I may remain on it for as long as two years, under FDA guidelines. The downside is that infusion takes up an entire day and there follows a 24-36 hour period where I am able to eat very little, if anything. Not all roses, but not all that grim, either.

I thank all of you for your continuing prayers, as they are the reason I am able to type this. God bless each of you.

Jim

Hello again, this is po18guy’s daughter.

I realize that he already has two other prayer threads, but what I’m asking you to pray for now is rather important. As you all know, my dad has lymphoma and his oncologist is having a bone marrow transplant done because my father’s immune system is pretty much shot. The only problem with that is that there are currently no matches in the world bank because he has a “rare immune system”, according to his doctor. My brother and I were tested two weeks ago and we find out tomorrow if we are matches. The chances are slim but it’s happened at the hospital before.

So I guess I’m just asking that you pray for a match because that’s what my father needs at the moment.

Thank you so much and God bless you all.
For po18guy and his family…

O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
I fly, I come to Thee,
throwing myself into the arms of Thy tender mercy.
Thou art my sure refuge,
my unfailing and only hope.
Thou has a remedy for all my evils,
relief for all my miseries,
reparation for all my faults,
Thou canst supply for what is wanting in me
in order to obtain fully the graces
that I ask for myself and others.
Thou art for me,
and for us all,
the infallible,
inexhaustible source of light,
of strength, of perseverance,
peace and consolation.
I am certain that my importunity will never weary Thee;
certain, too, that Thou wilt never cease to aid,
to protect, to love me,
because Thy love for me,
O Divine Heart, is infinite.

Have mercy on all then, O Heart of Jesus,
and on all that I recommend to Thee,
according to Thy own mercy,
and do with us, for us, and in us,
whatsoever Thou will,
for we abandon ourselves to Thee with the full,
entire confidence and conviction
that Thou will never abandon us either in time or eternity.

Amen.
