Brothers and sisters, I have my usual treatment Monday. Tuesday, the day after, I have a Hickman line surgically implanted so that the stem cell collection may begin. I know not at this point how long the process will last, but likely the remainder of the year. The image is from Google images, and is not me (yet). One day at a time. Your prayers sustain me.

Brothers and sisters, I had a “Hickman Catheter” surgically implanted today. It was a 45 minute procedure, with two small incisions. There is a line that splits in two now hanging from my left chest, as my right chest is already occupied withe Power Port medication port that has been there since July '08. So, I have much hardware to show off now. A little more concerning is the two daily injections I have to give myself (or have my wife give me) of growth factor, which stimulates the bone marrow to produce an excess of stem cells to be harvested. But, this lasts only seven days and then harvest time begins. It is kind of ironic that my stem cell harvest also comes in the autumn. Anyway, it is another stage in this adventure called life. I thank the Lord for the sun, which broke through the clouds this morning as we headed in to the facility. I thank the Lord for each of you. Amen!
