Brothers and sisters, I am through with the stem cell harvesting process. Apparently, they were able to collect more than enough for a transplant - thanks to your prayers! What remains is to have the catheter removed from my chest, since it is an infection risk. And, Doctor and I must discuss what the future holds and the risks involved. My dear sister in Christ, Nora (for whom we prayed here - and her tumor was benign!), advises to keep repeating the prayer “Jesus, I trust in You”. I can’t think of better advice. God bless you all, who pray for a sinner like me.

O Lord, Holy Father, omnipotent and eternal God, I give You thanks and I bless Your holy name. I know I’m a poor miserable sinner but hear a cause that is just, pay heed to my cry, turn your ear to my prayer, no deceit is on my lips. Amen

I was completely tired from lack of sleep, but a quantity of cells were successfully harvested. I will return in the morning for another blood draw and to find out if I will have to have more cells harvested, or if today’s harvest was sufficient. I know that your prayers have improved my blood numbers, because I was not expecting even to be called for harvesting on the first day. Christ’s peace be with, and remain with each of you! Amen.

Not a day goes by that you aren’t remembered in prayer. While in the hospital myself I prayed often for you. Praise be to God for His love for us!

So, we needed a real challenge: my wife Elsa has contracted the swine flu. So, we are in the process of purchasing an anti-flu/anti-virus prescription for the rest of our family. However, the Lord is in charge and we place our faith and trust in Him. It also helps that Nora, bless her heart, has emailed to a friend vacationing in the Holy Land, who will now place a prayer intention for us at the wailing wall in Jerusalem. Amen! Alleluia!
 
Loving God,

Your will is the path we must follow and your love is the love we must share with your people each day. Please bless our friend Jim and help him to understand and be comfortable with the path you would have him walk. Please continue to give him strength, courage, and an even, positive nature which is such a wonder and blessing to behold. Our God I know that You watch over all that You create. Please grant that I trust You completely, regardless of any circumstance in my life or in others’ lives.

Dear Jesus, as Suffering Servant [Isaiah 52-53] You accepted all human weakness and struggle in atonement for human sin. You obtained redemption for all who choose Your ways. With You, I accept the gifts and burdens of my humanity for the sake of others’ salvation. While I endure my illness and life’s difficulties, accepting them as opportunities to grow in love and wisdom, I ask that through Your mercy I never actually sin against You or other people.

Suffering Servant of God, united with You, I offer the heartaches, failures and misfortunes of others’ lives and mine. Your life in me is my real self that desires and moves towards goodness and others’ welfare. Where we can only experience grief or depression before traumatic and distressing occurrences, empower us with trust in You.

Fulfil Your promise that “all shall be well” that “all manner of things shall be well.” (Jesus to Julian of Norwich) Please grant me confidence in Your merciful action even when all seems hopeless, so that like You, I will obtain numerous conversions in blessing for my life lived in service of You and others.

Jesus, even when I feel devastated or despondent, I desire to pray and try to assist others. Help me to accept humbly, without surprise or disappointment that I seem imperfect and unfruitful, and that life seems dark and gloomy. Let me be the treasure You created me to be, for You and for anyone in my life. Please delight Yourself in me and fulfil Your will in my life despite my inadequacies and trials.
 
Lord, You are our caregiver, You are our Life and all that we are. Be all that Jim and Elsa need right now and protect them with Your strong arm of protection and love. We thank You and give You all Glory, Honor and Praise!!!
