Thanking the Lord for all who have so willingly and generously prayed for me. I have another series of CT scans monday. I have received about 20 years’ worth of background radiation just from the imaging conducted over the past two years. Collateral damage, I guess. I may end up with a different cancer, but it will likely be slower growing that what I had. So, yes, each morning is a blessing indeed!
Prayers for you today. Hope everything turned out good. Keep us posted.
Love in Him,
mlz

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

You’re amazing to have survived so very much medical procedures. One set of radium treatment knocked out my dear Dad.
May the Lord bless you Trishie (and all who devote themselves to prayer)! While I have received a lot of radiation, it is only through the scheduled imaging that is necessary to monitor my response to the drug I take. I have not received actual radiation treatments, as lymphoma is a blood-borne cancer. As such, it would require total-body radiation - which would kill me as it killed the cancer. So, I have this current providential and experimental treatment, brought about through prayer, which is scheduled to continue until next February. After that is unknown. But, of course, I must survive until then before that even becomes an issue (I drive on the public roadways, after all!). The Gospel reading at mass yesterday places all of this in perspective (Luke 12:16-21). As to another thread, all prayer is a blessing for which I shall continue to thank and praise God. Amen.

Loving God,

We lift up our intentions for Jim, your son who has endured much hardship and many trials, and has remained faithful and courageous in the face of suffering. Thank you Lord, for guiding and helping Jim in this situation in his life and for a reasonable outcome with his retirement. Lord, you love Jim and his family, and you will provide in his time of uncertainty and need. Please bless all the members of this family during this time of continuing anxiety and concern, while they also deal with many other issues.

Thank you also Lord, for the witness and faith that our friend Jim displays in his situation, and for the prayers he lifts up for others in his continued devotion to you, O Lord.

We lift our prayers in the name of your beloved son Jesus, the Good Shepherd of your people.

Amen.
