Is there no shame any more? The jury “foreman” shamelessly announces to coordinate with the defendant’s counsel and throw away even a pretense of impartial delivery of justice. One can only hope that here is some miniscul sense of decency and justice left in the republicans, and they would shy away to become trumpists.

There was a time - anyone still remembers Reagan? - when we could easily identify with the republican party. Not any more. Very sad. strong text

seems he is playing by the same rules as the democrats.

it is all a sham

from the opening lies…
excuse me story…

Does not “seem” anything like that. Not even close. The democrats have legitimate points in the two articles. The republicans could not bring up ANY counter arguments. That is why had to resort to meaningless yelling.

the entire proceedings are a scam

but YMMV

Come on. Everyone has a reason to bring poor Trump down, and are willing to commit perjury to that effect? All those immaculate witnesses? 🙂 Get real. 😉 I would be interested in discussing any reasonable arguments, but there are none. Only yelling, nothing else.

the hate has been going on since he was elected

I am generally against the scalawag (I was a never-Hillary voter) and only support his court picks (off the computer), but the people on the left, on this forum, have made it hard not to defend the orange-man-always-bad rhetoric.

they can’t even defend his pro-life actions. talk about justice…

this is just more of the same. a disgruntled group trying to overturn the election. who is the whistleblower? a scam…

No, an impeachment doesn’t overturn an election. In fact you can’t have an impeachment for acts committed before being sworn into office.

yes, the GOP doesn’t follow the church 100% on abortion, but the Dems follow the church 0%

not hard to decide if you believe abortion is wrong and want to limit it as much as possible instead of promoting it

there is a difference between the parties and a vote for a democrat is a vote for abortion

you can’t spin any other way and now that the bishops stated it is primary, well…

not actually, but it has the same effect of overturning the election. some Dems are even claiming they will do it again if he is re-elected. this is their attempt to overturn the election. YMMV

Impeaching and convicting Trump would make Pence the POTUS.
It is not entirely clear what you mean by overturning an election: but it is hard to reconcile that phrase with Pence becoming POTUS.

I read this morning that Nixon won majority votes in 49 states and 18 million more popular votes.

Actually, it’s easy. Trump was elected predident. Pence, vice-president.

Question, since you are a newbie and based on your posts, did you join this forum as a means to bash Trump and stir the pot? It sure looks that way to me🤨

The impeachment proceedings are a sham and a shame. This is not necessarily because the Democrats do not have some valid points, but neither party will budge due to partisanship. The latter is nothing new although it has probably reached its highest point. Think back to the Clinton hearings for impeachment: how many Democrats endorsed the Republican arguments and how many Republicans stated that impeachment was uncalled for and disruptive to the country? It’s a similar stalemate in the current Trump impeachment proceedings. Neither side is really interested in an impartial assessment of the case, much less what is best for the country; rather, they prefer to score political points with an eye toward the 2020 presidential election. It’s as simple as that, and anyone who believes either party is sincere is politically naïve.

I hope that is understandable.
It is understandable although not in a meaningful way.
I had and still have no idea whatsoever you were trying to convey in post #12, in which you responded to a question I posed to another poster. I pinged, in a colloquial manner, to invite your clarification.

Maybe but checks and balances still make the US better place than a whole load of other countries. We should be proud of the fact that we are allowed to criticize our leaders and our government. We sing to the same national anthem so things are still okay.

The desperation of Trump’s haters is almost palpable. It’s really funny.
