I just looked at some previous posts, and I think it’s a joke account.
Maybe you are Trolling, would you be so kind as
to show what previous posts are jokes?

I believe you have come to cause division.

Thank you all for your answers. The situation has been handled by my parents effectively, and I am no longer involved. My mom patiently talked to my sister and was very open with her. No spanking was done. 🙂 And I appologize for any misunderstanding, but my mother is a very good parent. I have a very close relationship with my mom, and she wasn’t putting pressure on me to do her parenting for her. She was merely asking for some resources that she could use because she knows that I can find things really well (I’m a bit more computer savvy than she is, haha). We were both looking for things on the Internet because she wanted to get as much information and opinions as possible. So my mom didn’t force me to go on the Internet to find anything. When she came to me yesterday, she was stressed out because this isn’t the first issue (whether it be viewed as minor or major by interpretation), that my parents have had with my sister.
Not that my sister is being a slut or anything. The reason she’s been using thongs, padded bras, and excesssive makeup is to attract boys at school (no big surprise there, seeing that she’s a sixteen-year-old girl). She openly told my mom so yesterday. It’s completely normal, I agree. What my parents are concerned about is that it will get out of hand if they don’t say anything to her. It seems that lately, my sister has only been focusing on her appearance (again, no big surprise there). My parents want to let her know that it isn’t healthy to only focus on one’s physical appearance and that she’s beautiful without having to wear all the added things. Plus, thongs actually are health hazerdous. Here’s some potential risks of wearing thongs:
  1. Thongs can transport bacteria from your rectal area to your private area, resulting in urinary-tract and vaginal infections.
  2. Wearing tight material like a thong can cause tiny tears in your urethra and outer vaginal area.
  3. Thongs can cause chafing and hemorrhoids in the anal area.
  4. The string part can inflame the skin and cause yeast infections.
My sister has actually been complaining of some problems, well, down there, for a while now so my mom took her to the doctor yesterday to check it out because it was really bothering my sister. It is possible that it could be from thong use, but they don’t know for sure.

So again, the main reason I posted my question was to be helpful because I care about my sister’s health and I love her very much. She’s a beautiful young girl, and I want her to realize that too without having to depend soley on beauty products.
I’m just curious as to whether her friends are either Catholic or Protestant.

Protestants make no effort on anything, their religion is based on Faith only, no Action, which is what the Catholic religion is based on. She is competing with her Protestant friends, because with them, you can sin your butt off, pray forgiveness and it’s all good, then repeat it if need be, but with Catholics you pray and do penance, unless you’re not really a Catholic.

Protestantism is a threat to Catholicism, Young Catholics witnessing the lax of proper Morality with the Protestants become Jealous and so to be socially accepted do the things that they do, which is why when Catholic parents find out about their fashion styles or about the gossip, they have a cow. They are just trying to protect their children from the vices of Evil that roam the world for the ruin of soul.

Real Catholics that really enjoyed their Faith, would understand why Catholics have a moral code.

Corporeal punishment has a history of over 2,000 years. With the result we’ve had proper Morality, but ever since they took the paddle out of the school, kids have gone to hell in their Morality, they think that they are gods and that parents must worship them. Just ask your parents if they had ever been whipped, ask them if they appreciated what their parents were doing for them, you will be surprised at their answers. But what makes the teenagers of today any different?

If anything at all, re-evaluate what it means to be a Catholic, compare that with Protestant views, of course some serious research would be underway. But I doubt it will ever be done, with as much distraction that there is with all the texting that goes on.

I believe you will turn out all right, your sister, that depends on if she learns what Catholicism is all about.

Well good.

I highly doubt it would be a better situation if she wanted to attract GIRLS. 😛

As funny/amusing as this all is, you have been reported. Enough is enough.

Well, it’s used extensively in the Bible, so I think you problem with it is that it is judgmental. Whether it applies in this circumstance is impossible to know. I have no idea what the daughter si doing or like.

I just think that kind of language was effective when it was used in the past. The problem of today is the fear of using accurate and powerful language in an attempt to be politically correct.

The walkie talkie stuff didn’t make much sense to me either. I will say this: Christ himself called told us it would better to cut off a body part that caused us to sin rather than give into that sin.

I don’t know. I suspect the answer to this thread is to have the parents talk with the daughter to see what’s going on. If they have a brain and aren’t complete pollyannas, they should be able to figure out if it’s just a phase teenager thing or if she’s hanging around trash that will lead her to some horrific outcomes.
I must explain everything…

A walkie-talkie would enable her conversations one way, to her parents. Since the primary reason any parent gets their child a phone is for Security reasons. That would limit her exposure to distractions and temptations of those why want to ruin her morality. It would be embarrassing to be seen with it, so they would use it only when they needed their parents help, and not to depend upon would-be predators from the school; either “new” friends or school staff.

A phone perhaps, with limited contacts, would probably be best. Close friends and family with the ability to call 911 if need be, might be a more correct way of dealing with the problem of moral decadence.

On one side, we have a teenage girl who:

-Wears thongs. Presumably, underneath her clothing, where it is not seen.
-Wears makeup
-Wears padded bras.

On the other side, we have this poster who:

-Calls her a “whore”
-Says she needs to be spanked
-Thinks she should break any friendships she might have with Protestants, just because they are Protestants.

Remind me which of these two people is promoting moral decadence?

For what it’s worth, I have yet to have a good experience with Protestants. In fact, my experience with Protestants closely mirrors Catholic Prime’s. However, I have had good experiences with:
  1. devout Catholics
  2. non-practicing Catholics
  3. atheists (but lots of bad experience here, too)
  4. Bahai (sp?)
  5. pagans (think Wiccan, etc.)
  6. agnostics
  7. Muslims
  8. card-carrying members of the Chinese Communist Party (no, that wasn’t a joke)
  9. non-practicing Hindus
But not Protestants. Still, if I were to rope my issues with Protestants into this discussion the way Catholic Prime is, there would be no basis for it since Protestants were never mentioned.

Sorry for your experiences- maybe you can meet my Mother or Great Aunt one day. 🙂

Good and bad people come in all forms and ALL religious backgrounds. Hypothetically, what if the OPs sister went to a Catholic school? That was the only point I was trying to make… Like you stated - it simply had nothing to do with the thread’s question and using terms like whoring around and blaming Protestants sounded ludicrous. I was truly hoping he/she was trying to be funny.

She is being influenced by her Protestant friends. If your parents really care about her, they would check her purse before she went to school to make sure she did not have skimpy articles of clothing. They would take away her phone(give her a walkie-talkie), and her internet privileges.**Even wiser would be to put her in an all-girl’s Catholic school away from the temptation of Protestants and boys.

Show this to your Mom.

Either they do something now, that may cost a little money for her proper education, or they will be paying more for the upkeep of another baby, after she whores herself out for social acceptance and gets pregnant. If need be Spank her. I had it done to me 30 years ago, but somewhere down the line, parents got sloppy, and the kids now rebel against the parents and tell them what to do.
Oh, yeah that’s gonna work. The girl who AGGRESSIVELY pursued my son (with no resistance from him, granted) to the point where she drove to our house in the middle of the night to sneak him out to have sex, went to the all-girl’s Catholic school right next door to his all-male Catholic high school. That Catholic girls’ school includes quite a few lesbians, Wiccans, etc. and is VERY liberal and permissive.

These things happen everywhere, to Catholics, Protestants, heathen of every sort, and even atheists.

You can’t spank a 16 year old teenager. That can easily become a beating because they won’t cooperate, and they shouldn’t. If a parent doesn’t have a few more tools in his/her toolbox by the time a kid is 16, it’s going to be a rough few years.

Over-reacting is a hallmark of insecure parenting. The girl’s father should be explaining to her that what she is doing is not making herself attractive to the right sort of boy, but “tarting up” so that the boys who will treat her badly are the ones who are drawn.

It’s scary to think that Catholic_Prime may not be a joke account. He’s apparently discerning a call to the priesthood, he’s obsessed beyond all reason with exorcism and demonic possession, he thinks Protestants are fat slobs, and he has no compunction about beating teenage girls and calling them whores. If he is for real and he manages to make it through the psychological screening, I foresee some more scandals for the church coming down the pike in a few years.

Yes, that is TRULY scary!!

I still smell a troll.

.
So do you think it was the school’s fault or her parents?

I don’t know if you’re in the US or not, but walkie-talkies are not common at all, if you can even buy something like that anymore. That would literally not be a feasible option.

So do you think it was the school’s fault or her parents?
That wasn’t my point. Catholic_Prime was saying that if the OP’s mother took her thong-wearing daughter out of the school she’s in, and put her in a Catholic school, she wouldn’t be exposed to Protestants and would become a fine upstanding Catholic girl with the right morals. My statement was that even Catholic girls’ schools allow Protestants, Muslims, Wiccans, Pagans, etc. to enroll and there is no guarantee that just because the name says “St. Fill In The Blank’s Catholic School for Girls” that the girls are going to be morally any better than any other school.

There isn’t anything inherently wrong with thongs as long as it’s not being shown off to the entire world. (Think along the lines of too-low-rise jeans). If underwear stays under clothes it doesn’t really matter what style it is.

As for padded bras, this is something that isn’t necessarily bad either. What is the intent? Is she self-conscious and a “late bloomer” and she just wants to look more feminine? That’s pretty normal, especially as a teenager still going through puberty. Is she looking for something with better support? Padded bras can be more comfortable and supportive for some women. They can also prevent the weird bra-line that runs across your chest when you wear a t-shirt by pushing things up just enough to make things look smoother. There is nothing wrong with these things if they are being used for the right reasons. If she is padding her bra to look about 2 cup sizes bigger just to get the (wrong) attention- that’s when it becomes a problem.
