What do you make of those who have died and are alive again and say they have seen heaven (or hell)?
I will look into it. Thanks! This man claims that he saw Heaven and that when we die we will not remember anything.
**Well, he clearly remembered SOMETHING when he died and came back to life.
You don’t get by reason from this propostion to “the Saints can’t hear us” anyway.
However, I would recommend you read a book by Fr. Seraphim Rose THE SOUL AFTER DEATH, which examines various supposed after-death experiences from the standpoint of Orthodox Christianity.**
Remind him that nothing takes place without God’s will. The Saints can hear us if God allows it.The thought kind of came up in a conversation I had with a friend who said there was a man in Africa who had died in a car accident and was dead for about a week and then was alive again. This man claims that he saw Heaven and that when we die we will not remember anything. My friend argues that this disproves the belief that the Saints can hear us.
Um, plenty of people have seen heaven and come back. I’m thinking Moses, and a couple other old testament guys, and minimally Mary who have all “come back” since their heaven experiences. nevermind the angels…Satan,…What about that Scripture passage where Jesus says no one has seen Heaven? or was it the Father?
