3 Bibles behind me as I reply, funny still do not know and I am not even tempted to see how many books they do have. It was the NIV that I read,

One thing I have found if you want to think about adding or taking away from the Bible, is to how many pages are devoted to Interpreting or putting the passages in “CORRECT” context for you 😉 especially in the “Living Insights” Bible my Born Again mother gave me, Bless her Heart!

Sorry I got wore out with the rest 😊

Regards Tony
What do you mean you don’t know, and not even tempted" to see how many books. No table of contents?

What Bible does your Faith use, officially?

King James was used by Shoghi Effendi to apply the standard of English to Baha’i translations, from what I understand. There would be no “Official Bible”.

I did open it this morning thinking I would count the books, but I did not. I would rather just open it and read it. I trust that I will find Gods Word in there.

Heaven’s Tony! Even I know the significance of the number of books.🙂

Well done 👍

You pass…whoops 😉

I most likely learnt at Sunday School.

What I do know there is books I like that do not appear in the Bible I use.

There is so much to know, what is important to one is not so important to another, unless the import can be shared and agreed upon!

If student or your child asks you how many books are in the New Testament how do you answer?

If they were interested I would say good question, lets have a look together and most likely count them together. 👍

You could suggest why it is so important to you 😉 I do understand that there was some time and effort into compiling the Bible with the books that were seen the best Reflection of Gods Word. I thank them for that as I have confidence they did a good Job 😉

It is no shame in saying you don’t know and tell your student to refer to the Catholic Church.🙂

Martin, you do know it is only one Google search away 😉

These days you would most likely hear a parent say, do not bother me Google it 😃

What does Google say? Did Google claim the Holy Spirit guides it?

So, this is the thought process of non-Christians who read the New Testament. “Don’t bother me, Google it”?

Well as to the number of books in the canons of scripture (The Bible) there are several…

You have the Orthodox Canons

The Roman Catholic Canon

The Protestant canon

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biblical_canon#Christian_biblical_canons

The Coptic and Ethiopian Canons

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_biblical_canons
Ha Ha - I did think of posting, stopped and Arthra did 👍

And

" The Protestant Bible contains 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament. The Catholic Bible not only contains those books found in the Protestant Bible but additional books known as deuterocanonical books. (However, if you ask a Catholic, they would probably say that the Protestant Bible is missing these books.)

Thanks, Regards Tony

Sure. So KJV you use has how many books?

MJ

Thanks was good to know KJV has the 73 Number 👍

Will enjoy reading the other Seven Old Testament Books.

Regards Tony
I thought you read the Bible back to front? So you haven’t read the Bible back to front? If you had the KJV and read it you didn’t realize there were 7 extra books?

Plus there is no such thing as 7 extra books. Where are you getting 7 “extra” books as if it was added later.

Hi Martin,

Can you please advise us as to which journal of psychology equates the “reading of a book back to front” with the memorisation of the “number of chapters of said book”? please? As far as I understand the “content of a book” is not equated to counting the number of chapters within it…

I’m baffled by the level of questioning here.:confused:

Or are Tony and yourself simply flirting?? :D:D

.

Study more and you’ll understand what I mean. 🙂

No one said memorizing. Let Tony speak for himself.

Boy this is tiresome 😉 We have brought the Fact that The “Glory of God” has Announced the advent all Christians are waiting for and this is what you want to talk about 😉 😃

This Roman Catholic Bible had Seven more Books in the Old Testament I had never seen before, well not in my NIV.

The New Jerusalem Bible (NJB) is a Catholic translation of the Bible published in 1985. The New Jerusalem Bible (NJB) has become the most widely used Roman Catholic Bible outside of the United States. It has the imprimatur of Cardinal George Basil Hume.

Guess what, that is it
