Since the Eucharist is God/Jesus, praise and worship is 100% appropriate.

Check this out…

The people of Israel arose and went up to Bethel, and inquired of God, “Which of us shall go up first to battle against the Benjaminites?” And the LORD said, “Judah shall go up first.” (Judges 20:18)

Judah
means praise. Whenever the Jews went into battle they marched praising God. “Praise shall go up first” into battle. All the Early Desert Fathers taught that prayer is battle so always start the battle of prayer with praise.

Neat, huh? I got that from Bible study. 😉

Well, that’s a bit vague.

My Eucharistic Adoration sometimes consists of quiet time, other times it’s more active with praise, and yes, even singing…in prayer tongues (only when I’m alone, obviously!!). It was pretty AMAZING!

Ever been to a Steubenville youth conference or a Lifeline event?

Eucharistic adorations there are phenomenal, you get moved by praise and worship songs by the band, I started crying at one point because I felt Jesus talking to me through the lyrics of the song.

The band will play ‘down in adoration falling’ as the monstrance is placed, then we would have maybe 3-5 songs of worship (all hands up high, youth crying or running towards the altar and prostrating themselves), then a moment of silence, then the band will play the Divine praises, the priest or deacon will give a reflection then benediction.

It is just amazing how His presence moves you even more with music. Its like being in a trance and all you can feel is His love with the songs.

I never used to go for adoration. Only when I was little I used to tag along with my father or mother.
Back then it was every day that one could stop by the Church and adore in the Chapel.

Now they have it one day a week. I started to stop by on Wednesdays at my Church for adoration. At first I thought I would be the only one going there, but I was surprised to see many knelt down in front of it quietly. I thought I went to heaven.
