I was recently reading writings by Saint Padre Pio and came across several letters written by the Saint, which I was also able to find online. In a letter written by Saint Padre Pio on February 7, 1950 concerning the 3 Days of Darkness, the Saint prophesies: “My angels, who are to be the executioners of this work, are ready with their pointed swords! They will take special care to annihilate all those who mocked Me and would not believe in My revelations”.

Of course, anyone with a little credit can buy a domain name at GoDaddy.com and plaster it with whatever they want to, and call them “letters by Saint Padre Pio.” Stick with imprimaturs and avoid the merchants of salve for itchy ears.

The “three days of darkness” and nothing to do with the Dark Night of the Soul.

Everyone who grows in the spiritual life under goes the Dark Night of the Soul and it is not something that kills a person.

I found it first while going through books about Padre Pio in my local Library, then looked for it online for the quote.

Chastisements bring us to better understanding of how GOD will avert them if we change. Concern yourself with what state your soul is in when your existence in life is over. Confession and plenary indulgences should be the concern of every persons soul.

To confess is to shower the soul clean. If the soul is filthy, the body is corrupt and the mind is confused doing evil sometimes without awareness. GOD gives us the means by which to keep ourselves in a state of grace. To stay in a state of grace helps with discernment of mystical events that are about to occur. Be perfect as our heavenly Father has made us perfect. Sinning 7 times a day does not help that perfection, but confession does.

Two Saints that I love are Saint Pio and Saint Faustina. Saint Pio and Saint Faustina are two examples I live by. Saint Pio’s and Saint Faustina’s obedience to GOD is exemplary. I know Saint Pio believed our Lady was appearing in Garabandal, Spain, and our Lady granted Saint Pio a vision to see the great miracle that was prophesied to appear in the pine trees in Garabandal, Spain.

The four events prophesied by Our Lady of Garabandal are worthy of noting and keeping watch because they have stood the test of time (50 years). The warning that is supposed to be worldwide where everyone in the world will see their soul the way GOD sees each individuals’ soul, is much more frightening to me than the 3 days of darkness in my opinion. That is why to keep ones’ soul in a perfect state of grace is imperative to confess as often as possible with perfect humility.

Confession is the key to rid fear that chains the soul. Once a week is not unreasonable although many might think that it is too much. Do you take a shower every day? Think of it that way. What stems from cleanliness of the soul is the heart and minds cleanliness. Fear will never become a passing thought when it is clear to think of wanting to be in heaven in ones’ final breath.

4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign: and a sign shall not be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. And he left them, and went away.

The reason the church takes so long to authenticate a revelation is they show prudent caution, yes even 50 years after the fact. We should follow the example our church sets in exercising prudent caution. The church magisterium exercises caution because private revelation can come from Satan and not from God and if the church were to set aside their cautious judgement in favor of desiring to follow every manner of revelation that arose, we would all end up in deception and Satan would have a field day leading us here and there as he willed.

To argue that the church ended up authenticating many revelations at a later date is beside the point. The point of “it has taken the church 50 years to authenticate a revelation” is, is that it proves that if God wills his word to be known then it will be known regardless of time, and the church operates at that cautious pace, therefore so should we.

As the scripture above show, Jesus word is that a wicked and adulterous people seek after signs, but none shall be given save that of the greatest sign which has already been revealed - Jesus himself. Mary likewise only ever has one revelation and it is her son.

Every believer should always be prepared re: the 10 foolish and the 10 wise virgins. Our Lord stated clearly no-one knows the final time but his Father. Therefore stop concerning yourself with this. Even the saints can get it wrong. I obey Jesus word above that of a saints word, and he clearly stated ONLY the Father knows, so how would the saints know something even Jesus did not know? Impossible.
 
All I know is that our house will be prepared if any of the signs appear. It never hurts to be prepared.
 
True, I do not dispute what you have just said. Daily mass, confession (once a week for me), adoration and daily prayer are my daily food. Yet, I was stating that one of the greatest saints (Saint Pio) of our times gave many facts to the existence of Our Lady appearing at Garabandal. Even the best of all signs that are really allowed by GOD can be deceiving, but Garabandal is a pretty safe apparition to look at being that Saint Pio verified its authenticity.

GOD exists in every tabernacle of the world, but many people in these days are searching to believe in Jesus through this and that apparition. By saying what you said is a guidance to Jesus, but it is not a full explanation for one not to follow this or that apparition because that is what a person is seeking at the moment.

We are a pretty stubborn and evil race today, but given Garabandal’s history and Saint Padre Pio’s stamp of approval with the writings of a letter and the priest witnesses who said he saw the vision of “The Great Miracle” is quite a different case. Garabandal is safer than say Medjugorje to believe in.

The warning will take place for the whole world because I had it in Dec. of 1999, which is not to say that when it occurs again, I will be exempt from it. On the contrary, I will experience it again, but Mass, Confession, Adoration and Prayer will prepare me differently this time. You see, when I received it in Dec. of 1999, I was shown that I was going to hell. You will in no doubt probably believe that I deserved what I saw and I know I deserved it, but Garabandal will happen for I have seen GOD’S mercy upon me and know that this day of “The Warning” will take place for the whole world. It is the greatest mercy from GOD to have this day.

Like I said, Mass, Confession, Adoration and Prayer are the only ways to prepare for it. Church teachings are my food. I pray that you prepare too.

I found this thread after a woman in my church scared the living daylights out of my Protestant daughter-in-law with a pamphlet about the three days.

In 1985, my mother, who was living hand to mouth spent money she didn’t have to waste on beeswax candles and some sort of special grapes to be put aside for the three days of darkness that was supposed to occur in September of that year. She made me keep black plastic sheets for years to put up on the windows to protect the kids from looking outside. She was so convinced this was going to happen…eventually that she sent the literature to my best friend’s mother who was barely hanging on to sanity to start with. The poor woman locked herself in her basement and it was a major undertaking to get her out.

Even if this will happen, I believe the best and only preparation will be leading a good life, a clean conciense and frequent confession. What if it starts when a family is away from home and all the supplies they stored up.

If this literature contains items for sale, well there you have it, a scam intended to separate the fearful from their money and nothing else.

Yes, you are right that people need to be civil and even love one another if that is possible any more. We love our family, but to love your enemy, now that is a tough one. How many of us love our enemy? Unfortunately this world watches way too much TV judging this person and that person in reality shows and we are too busy watching our backs subsequently we ignore GOD. It would be nice to think that everything is going to get better, but it is going to get much worse.

There has never been a time where all the problems went away resulting in peace. Peace will never evolve in mankind unless we realize the mercy of GOD. Mercy is knowing that the hand of GOD is mitigated because GOD fearing people prayed, fasted and revered GOD as not just some myth or fairytale.

GOD is revealing Himself to us in many ways, but the leaders of the world are ignoring His call. These are the times that the bible spoke of in revelation, but we aren’t getting it.

“The Warning” will soon be here for all of us and when it comes, everyone is going to have to make a choice at that point. GOD or no god.

GOD have mercy on us all…

i wouldnt like to bet on it. After all, its based on very suspect alleged apparitions and locutions:
Garabandal and Medjugorje have a whiff of sulphur.
The late Fr. Gobbi “received” some pretty suspect “messages”.
John Leary`s outrageous “locutions” and “visions” were given the thumbs down by his bishop.

The “End Times” industry makes a lot of money for some people. 😃

Well put. I have more fear of my wife’s “honey do” list.
 
Look at it this way, there are certain supplies a person or family should never be without and something to cover windows so no one can look out. I’ve forgotten what else.
A person who is convinced this will happen will never be able to travel again even if their job depended on it. They might be caught out without their blessed salt, or special grapes or black plastic. They would never be able to leave the house.
What if it began in the middle of the day? Or middle of the night, how is one to put up their black plastic without seeing out the window???

Sort of reminds me of the Rapture.

When Lot was to leave Sodom and Gomorrah, GOD sent 3 angels to warn of what was to be. He told them what to do and so He and others left Sodom and Gomorrah.

People have been warned about what to do to endure in these times, these people should be preparing their soul, not their body. What good is it if one gains all the world, but yet loses ones’ soul. To prepare ones’ soul is the answer.

Whether chastisements take place in the way we (mankind) say is another issue. This world is about souls and it is a spiritual battle, not a worldly battle. Don’'t keep your eyes on satan who is about this world, keep your eyes on Jesus who is about heaven.

If GOD is going to send a chastisement, He will give His flock time to prepare. This has been shown over and over again in the bible. Even Jonah was warned that saved Nineveh from doom, so don’t be concerned about where everyone will be or what they will be doing, be concerned for everyone’s soul when the chastisement occurs.
Save a soul, save your own.

Confession, Fasting, Plenary Indulgences, Prayer, Adoration and Mass above all should be everyone’s daily food today. To forsake these six foods, but to eat worldly food over these six spiritual foods is a spiritual contradiction to ones’ salvation.

We are already in chastisements, but the final battle is something we must consider. Would GOD want us to consider this final battle? Absolutely!!! It will not be HIS fault if we do not listen to His warning! Even now He speaks to each of us individually, but our hearts and minds have been polluted with filth because each and every one of us has turned up the volume of the TV, the Radio, and we have turned down the volume of the voice of GOD.

Good has become evil and evil has become good. Complacency and Justification have become truth making evil okay to swallow. I say follow Jesus and His truth WILL set you free. Any other truth is lies and deceit from hell.

Yes, the Bible speaks of impending chastisements, but chastisements as I have read in the bible are usually conditional as to how we (mankind) react to HIS warning which is mercy. Are we listening to GOD or are we listening to ourselves as a part of this world?.

Prepare your soul now, the spiritual battle is upon us, tomorrow is too late!!!

Marie-Julie announced the three days of darkness during which the infernal powers will be loosed and will execute all the enemies of God. "The crisis will explode suddenly; the punishments will be shared by all and will succeed one another without interruption… "( January 4, 1884).

“The three days of darkness « will be on a THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. Days of the Most Holy Sacrament, of the Cross and Our Lady. . . .» three days less one night.”

I have done some research trying to find three days that meet those criteria and have come up with the following -

Vatican approval for the celebration of a feast in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows was first granted to the Servite order in 1667.

By inserting the feast into the Roman Catholic calendar of saints in 1814, Pope Pius VII extended the celebration to the whole of the Latin Church. It was assigned to the third Sunday in September. In 1913, Pope Pius X moved the feast to September 15, the day after the Feast of the Cross.

What do you think? I am not attached to these dates but I have never seen any others even suggested before and wondered what anyone thought. Are there clear errors in these possibilities or does anyone else know a better choice for the three days?
