I think that it makes sense, but we really don’t know… personally of course I hope it doesn’t happen
Personally, I do not thing we can try to determine the dates for such events. If God does send this upon the world, I do believe there will be a warning and I do believe it will likely be part of the Major Chastisement. But, if we prepare our souls, and if we pray for those around us, then it does not really matter when, or even if, it happens.Marie-Julie announced the three days of darkness during which the infernal powers will be loosed and will execute all the enemies of God. "The crisis will explode suddenly; the punishments will be shared by all and will succeed one another without interruption… "( January 4, 1884).
“The three days of darkness « will be on a THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. Days of the Most Holy Sacrament, of the Cross and Our Lady. . . .» three days less one night.”
I have done some research trying to find three days that meet those criteria and have come up with the following -
+++++++++++++++September 13, 2012 - Thursday
St. Maria Faustina Kowalska of the Most Blessed Sacrament
Divine Mercy Chaplet originated from a vision that St. Faustina had of an Angel, the executor of divine wrath, on the evening of September 13, 1935. In the chaplet God is entreated with the following words:
Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world; for the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us.
Additionally -
The Fourth Eucharistic Congress closed on 9/13/1885
The Feast day of John Chrysostom (the Doctor of the Eucharist) is celebrated on September 13.
+++++++++++++++September 14, 2012 - Friday
Raising Aloft the Holy Cross or Exaltation of the Cross or Triumph of the Cross celebrating the finding of the true cross by St Helen on September 13 and its display for veneration on September 14
+++++++++++++++September 15, 2012 - Saturday
Our Lady of Sorrows Sept 15
Vatican approval for the celebration of a feast in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows was first granted to the Servite order in 1667.
By inserting the feast into the Roman Catholic calendar of saints in 1814, Pope Pius VII extended the celebration to the whole of the Latin Church. It was assigned to the third Sunday in September. In 1913, Pope Pius X moved the feast to September 15, the day after the Feast of the Cross.
What do you think? I am not attached to these dates but I have never seen any others even suggested before and wondered what anyone thought. Are there clear errors in these possibilities or does anyone else know a better choice for the three days?
One cannot say that the warning is an absolute. One cannot say that the Three Days odf Darkness is an absolute. One can only say they believe that those things are possible, perhaps even likely, but they have NOT been given in Public Revelation, they belong only to private revelation and are not binding or formal teachings.Praise Jesus in every tabernacle of the world…
First of all, let me make it clear; the world will get “The Warning” at the same time and it will most assuredly take place. It is also called “The illumination of Conscience” and called “The Awakening”. All three names are the same thing.
According to Saint Faustina’s diary, Entry #83 states: Before I come as the Just Judge, I am coming first as The King of Mercy. Before the Day of Justice arrives, there will be given to people a sign in the heavens of this sort: All lights in the Heavens will be extinguished and there will be great darkness over the whole earth. Then the sign of the CROSS will be seen in the SKY, and from the openings of the hands and the feet of the Savior were nailed will come forth great lights which will light up the earth for a period of time. This will take place shortly before the last day.” (end of entry #83) This is THE WARNING…My dream indicates it will happen in November, but even if it doesn’t happen in November, IT WILL HAPPEN SOON TO ALL THE WORLD AT THE SAME TIME…
When it happens, I will go through it again. People who do not go to confession and are in serious sin will be in danger of losing their soul. Pray the Divine Mercy chaplet for that person. Entry 1565 in “The Diary of Sister Faustina” states: When I entered the chapel for a moment, the lord said to me, My Daughter, help Me to save a certain dying person. Say the Chaplet that I have taught you for him. When I began to say the chaplet, I saw the man dying in the midst of terrible torment and struggle. His Guardian Angel was defending him, but it was, as it were, powerless against the enormity of the soul’s misery. A multitude of devils was waiting for the soul. But while I was saying the Chaplet I saw Jesus just as He is depicted in the image. The rays which issued from Jesus’ Heart enveloped the sick man, and the powers of darkness fled in panic. The sick man peacefully breathed his last. When I came to myself, I understood how very important the Chaplet was for the dying. It appeases the anger of God.
So if you pray the Divine Mercy chaplet for a person who is going to hell, Jesus will plead for that person’s soul to His heavenly Father in the last hour of that person’s life. We must trust in Jesus’ Divine Mercy to redeem that person. Trust in Jesus that He will redeem that person from going to hell. Pray for all individuals whom you believe are in danger of losing their soul. GOD bless you,
Jesus Christ, King of Mercy, I trust in YOU.
Monica4316: To answer your question: For those who are not Christian, understand that we must pray the Divine Mercy chaplet for those individuals. No one has the right to say, “You are going to hell because you do not believe in Jesus Christ”. Only Jesus can say this to a person who dies, but somehow, I cannot hear Jesus saying that to a person unless that person really hurt His world (ie: abortion, euthanasia, rape, murder, gay and lesbians who act upon it, priests who defile the sanctity of the most Holy Eucharist, etc, etc, etc…One cannot say that the warning is an absolute. One cannot say that the Three Days odf Darkness is an absolute. One can only say they believe that those things are possible, perhaps even likely, but they have NOT been given in Public Revelation, they belong only to private revelation and are not binding or formal teachings.

And it is a concept that was first publicized just over 100 years ago.Grace & Peace!
Generally on the 3 Days: it seems to me that the God who unleashes demons, punishes people for looking out a window, sends poison gas ala WWI mustard gas, and destroys the light for a period of days is not the same God that is revealed in the forgiving love of the Resurrected Jesus. The God of the Destroyed Light, the God of the Mustard Gas has much more to do with our fallen notions of what a powerful God (a God of Death) should be, and less to do with how God has revealed himself as having nothing to do with death through Jesus Christ.
Rest assured–if there is an event like the 3 Days, we ourselves will have caused it, and the God of Love and Life who desires that no one remain caught in death will have had nothing to do with it.

All is Grace and Mercy! Deo Gratias!
I’m sorry to say to you that this is completely wrong. The God of Mercy, Jesus Christ, is the same God of Revelation, and the Old Testament. God’s Providence guides all things, controls all events. That is the true and greatest mercy and needs to be appreciated, and this is the teaching of the Church.Grace & Peace!

'Nothing happens in the the universe without God willing and allowing it. This statement must he taken absolutely of everything with the exception of sin. ‘Nothing occurs by chance in the whole course of our lives’ is the unanimous teaching of the Fathers and Doctors of the Church, ‘and God intervenes everywhere.’
I am the Lord, He tells us Himself by the mouth of the prophet Isaias, and there is none else. I form light and create darkness; I make peace and create evil. I, the Lord, do all these things. 1 It is I who bring both death and life, I who inflict wounds and heal them, He said to Moses. 2 'The Lord killeth and maketh alive, it is written in the Canticle of Anna, the mother of Samuel, He bringeth down to the tomb and He bringeth back again; the Lord maketh poor and maketh rich, he humbleth and he exalteth. 3 * Shall there be evil (disaster, affliction) in a city which the Lord hath not done? 4 asks the prophet Amos: * Good things and evil, life and death, poverty and riches are from God Solomon proclaims. 5 And so on in numerous other passages of Scripture.’

The difference, of course, is that the blood painted on the lintels is Public Revelation given by God in the Bible, and affirmed by the Church. The three days of darkness is not part of public revelation. That is a critical difference. The three days of darkness might, or might not, happen.I’m sorry to say to you that this is completely wrong. The God of Mercy, Jesus Christ, is the same God of Revelation, and the Old Testament. God’s Providence guides all things, controls all events. That is the true and greatest mercy and needs to be appreciated, and this is the teaching of the Church.
The events of the 3 days, are the same as Biblical events, if one were to open the holy scriptures to certain places. All God’s work.
To choose one example, the blood of the lamb, painted upon the lintels to save the children of Israel in Egypt. The Lord’s work.![]()
But, just before His crucifixion Jesus said to them,I don’t know where people get that from, maybe Yoda, but not Scripture. “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes [shall be] they of his own household” (Matthew 10:34).
Indeed! But let’s be clear, here. As Christians, the scriptures of the Old Testament are revelatory of the nature of God because they are referred first to the Resurrection. That is, all of scripture spirals into and out of that pivotal revelation of the nature of God. To the extent that we find God in scripture acting contrary to the nature of God revealed in the Resurrection, then we must come to the conclusion that the contrary behavior is in fact a projection of our own violence and hatred onto God as God leads us out of that violence and hatred and into the light of the loving forgiveness of the Resurrection. The revelation of the Resurrection shows the OT to be a record of God’s people struggling to come to grips with the fact that God has nothing whatsoever to do with death. In short: God is deathless. We are deathful. And we know this because after we murdered Jesus Christ on a cross, he rose again not as the vengeful God of the Dark Three Days, but as the forgiving and loving victim.The God of Mercy, Jesus Christ, is the same God of Revelation, and the Old Testament.
Sure–but it must be appreciated within the context of the revelation of God’s nature in the Resurrection–that is, God’s Providence is bringing the New Creation into being through and as the Church in order to accomplish his loving and forgiving purposes in creation, which purposes we attempted to frustrate when we fell.God’s Providence guides all things, controls all events. That is the true and greatest mercy and needs to be appreciated, and this is the teaching of the Church.
I will not believe in a God of Death, Shin. The events of the 3 days may have precedent in Biblical imagery, but I refuse to believe that God colludes in or traffics in death for the purposes of righteousness. If it is immoral for us to pursue a good end through evil means, how is it that we can believe that God uses evil means to accomplish his good ends and still insist on calling him righteous? You may say, “God’s ways are mysterious,” and that may be so. But his mysterious ways should not be in contradiction to his own revelation of his nature in the Resurrection which showed him as thwarting death and giving new life to those in the tombs. In fact, God’s righteousness is truly righteous precisely because death has no part in it!The events of the 3 days, are the same as Biblical events, if one were to open the holy scriptures to certain places. All God’s work.
Is that akin to the Blood on the sides and above the doors of the houses of the Children of Israel to protect them from the final plague, the death of the first born males?Candles must be 100% beeswax! Purchase them and then have your priest bless them along with copious amounts of salt and water. Blessed candles, Blessed salt and Holy water are 3 things a Catholic family should never be without!. Don’t forget to have small Crucifix’ over the doors on the outside of your house either.
God warned Adam and Eve what would happened if they ate the fruit, and it came to pass not only for them, but for every human.Grace and Peace!
Shin, I appreciate very much what you wrote, and I don’t disagree with the gist of it, but there are certain ramifications of what you say which I find difficult.

If we do not believe that the Resurrection is definitive of God’s nature, then what are we doing calling ourselves Christians? If in Christ there is not “yes and no” but “Yes!” (as Paul states) why do we insist on believing that the Lord of Life is also the Mighty God of Death, Destroyer of All? Why did Jesus make a distinction between his Father and the one who was a murderer from the beginning if his Father also traffics in death and murder?
God is not a killer. He is not a murderer who can justify his murders and call them righteous simply because he’s more powerful than we are, and who are we to argue? That characterizes God’s power as death-dealing, and confuses the mystery of God’s nature as a decidedly psychotic arbitrariness. The gospel reveals God’s power as life-giving, the mystery of God’s nature as steadfast love.
Sure–but it must be appreciated within the context of the revelation of God’s nature in the Resurrection–that is, God’s Providence is bringing the New Creation into being through and as the Church in order to accomplish his loving and forgiving purposes in creation, which purposes we attempted to frustrate when we fell.

I hope this goes some way to explaining why I feel the 3 days is entirely a human attempt at characterizing the justice of God in terms of our own deathfulness, when in fact, the justice of God is not different in any way from his love. Let’s remember I John: Beloved, let us love one another. For love is of God, and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love.
That love, that forgiveness, that deathlessness revealed in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is central to the Christian message. It is the sine qua non of the gospel. Why would we choose to add death and darkness to it by believing something like the 3 Days?
