Of course. Any other straw dummies you feel the need the set up:rolleyes:

Again: I have never met a Catholic who voted Democrat BECAUSE of their support of abortion and gay marriage. I have met many Catholics who have voted Democrat IN SPITE OF abortion and gay marriage.
Gratefully - I never met the lady - but on national [not cable] TV I heard a Democratic Oregon Elector from Eugene Oregon at the Democratic Conference in Los Angeles state [and I quote literally] …*** “I am an active practicing Catholic from Eugene, Oregon and I am here to cast my vote for Al Gore to insure a woman’s right to choose”***

Now this was a specific catholic, democrat voter who was voting “one issue” and for abortion … it was not a vote in-spite of abortion …

Its been 40 + years since Row V Wade and Doe V Bolton which made abortion on demand at every stage legal in America and all of those supposedly catholic democratic voters have not been able to moderate the Democratic Party’s love affair with the abortion industry …

Plank for Plank what is the real difference between the two parties that makes the Democrat platform so much better then the Republican platform? … I see lots of generalities - no substance in your post …

As just one example: What is wrong with being for legal immigration and against illegal immigration? … I can tell you that our allowing multitudes of undocumented foreign nationals into the country may on its surface seem humanitarian … but it sets up the stage for those same people to be exploited - in ways too numerous to list … We can have open borders or immigration laws … laws that are enforced - equally or laws that are ignored … laws that are enforced unequally are an injustice to society as a whole …

No social rights [wages, freedom of religion, housing, health care, etc] mean anything - if first you are denied the right to your very life … it is not a seamless garment and all rights are not equal…

We can help people to help themselves or we can keep them dependent … as in teach them to fish for a lifetime or give them fish and chips whenever the government deems its appropriate and in that specified quantity as long as you comply with the government’s rules …

Greed knows no social station - it can occur in rich, poor and middle class …
Sloth too occurs at all social/economic …
The desire to steal - Ditto

In fact every sin and evil known to man crosses all stations …

The “rich” are no more virtuous then the “poor” … and no less

And I think that Democrats are no more virtuous then Republicans

I watched the GOP debate this morning and realized that the only one with sense is Jon Huntsman. I think Huntsman could get close to beating Obama, but he will not be the nominee. Santorum is out just like Ron Paul-both are too extreme. And Gringrich’s is disqualified cause he is on his 3rd wife. I don’t’ care how Catholic he claims to be.

I was kind of hoping Santorum would get the nomination, cause then it would be super easy for President Obama. But when Romney gets it, (and he will) there is no way he will beat the President. His flip flopping is everywhere, and the people are not stupid.

I look forward to Obama’s re-election.

🙂

There is one word that explains (and nearly guarantees) why Obama will win in November:

CATHOLICS
That is, catholics who don’t understand their faith, or, understanding it, refuse to do the right thing.

I can’t follow your reasoning. Do you have a point to make?
Glad to help you understand, Lionheart212. My point is in response to BVM 1221’s argument for voting for pro-abortion candidates. He said that its okay to vote for a candidate who supports abortion as long as you’re not voting for the candidate because of their support for abortion but in spite of it. So I made the comment that it would be the same as a racist using that reasoning as an excuse to vote for a racist/KKK candidate who advocates violence against blacks, e.g. - as long as your voting for the racist candidate in spite of the racism and not because of it, you’re off the hook. So that was my reductio ad absurdum for you. I hope it helps you comprehend this, and also helps you see the moral bankruptcy of the pro-abortion rights catholic position represented here by a few posters.

I am a registered Libertarian. Do you have a problem with that:yawn:
You post like a liberal Democrat apologist for Obama and a Bush hater - not a libertarian.
But don’t bother answering that question. This thread is up to page 5, and nothing really new has been posted since page 1. So I am dropping this thread. But NOT the Forums, and not the Catholic Church :yawn::yawn:
i.e. " I am not answering these questions! I am not answering these questions ! "

A good impression of Barbara Boxer. Not a good answer from a catholic who is supposed to support the sanctity of life. As I said, the silence from the Obama/pro-abortion Democrat defenders is quite revealing. I like your “yawn” emoticons. Millions are slaughtered by abortion every year. Do you have an emoticon for that?

Ishii

…And Gringrich’s is disqualified cause he is on his 3rd wife. I don’t’ care how Catholic he claims to be. …🙂
Wow …I never knew the US Constitution had a marriage limit in the qualifications for president  … you learn something new every day … can you cite the paragraph?

Also - I never knew that Personanongrata had a say in who is or is not a “Catholic” no matter what the person claims … I guess you know more then Mother Church about whether Mr. Gingrich should have been fully initiated into the Church - did you contact the Bishop and let him know

Reading the CAF political forum has only confirmed my suspicions regarding the Far Right.

I used to think that MAYBE folks really felt that way but I really didn’t know- but now I know they do.

I never spent any time on conservative sites, or any time on right wing media in general, but thanks to CAF I see the pernacious and shocking views of the far Right laid bare.

Yes, I have seen shockingly cold and intellectually vacuos ideas presented. The most unsophisticated and dishonest notions have been presented with a wink and a coloquial drawl.

And I should vote for this? THIS should capture my conscience. Please!

Its ugly around here.

I agree with you.

Though Obama hasn’t been perfect I do hope for his re-election. It is good to see the GOP worried.
Obama supports abortion, the homosexual agenda, muslims, and gives away billions of dollars of our hard earned tax dollars and you want him re-elected? This means you support those things too.

Is this a joke?
Obama hates Catholics and you’d still vote for him.

What shockingly cold and intellectually vacuous ideas have you seen presented here?

What “unsophisticated and dishonest” notions have you read? Please be precise.

And what is a “colloquial drawl”, and how do you recognize a drawl in print?

Worth considering. I think with all the fighting we have going on in the GOP primary process, Obama remains the favorite to win next November.

He has a 47% approval rating, which really shocks me…and Bush had similar approval ratings at this time in the process and he obviously won re-election.

We will see how things look after the GOP gets a firm candidate, but right now it does not look very good. Sadly.

Further complicating this is the fact that Romney looks like the likely candidate and I am guessing he will not poll any higher than McCain, so the election will be tighter, but will more than likely end with the same outcome as the last election.

With the pain this nation has suffered, Obama’s approval should be in the 30s, the fact that it is so high really tells the tale for the next election since so many people just do not blame Obama for the nation’s troubles.
Thank you for this post. I am very happy to hear that Obama will win again. God bless Obama!

Here is your party guys:

the Senate was debating whether to ban partial-birth abortion, Santorum asked two pro-choice senators opposed to the ban, Russ Feingold, D-Wis., and Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J., this: Suppose the baby slips out of the birth canal before it can be killed. Should killing it even then be a permissible choice? Neither senator would say no.

***Santorum: Because we are talking about a situation here where the baby is almost born. So I ask the question of the senator from California, if the baby was born except for the baby’s foot, if the baby’s foot was inside the mother but the rest of the baby was outside, could that baby be killed?

Boxer: I am not answering these questions! I am not answering these questions.***

(from an exchange between DEmocrat senator Barbara Boxer and Rick Santorum)

nrlc.org/abortion/pba/notansweringboxersantorum.html

and, Obama’s Secretary of HHS Kathleen Sebelius at a NARAL lobby:

*** “We’ve come a long way in women’s health over the last few decades, but we are in a war.”***

So, Ringil, Cmatt, and BVM 1221, what do you think of your party which can’t say they are against partial birth abortion. Which side are you on in Obama’s and Sebelius’ war?

Ishii
I remember this exchange, but not that it was Santorum who initiated it.

Go Rick Santorum! 👍
