That’s why I was trying to see if I qualified for the Tiber Swim Team and tried to use my reversion as a way to “grandfather” me in to the crew!

Well, guess what - every Catholic is a member of the Tiber Swim Team, since we were all born into original sin, and completely pagan. 😃

If you are a cradle Catholic, then you “swam the Tiber” at your baptism. 🙂

😃 This is a great thread! You guys and your “means of travel” across the Tiber were HILARIOUS!!! Beam me up, Scotty. Thanks for the laughs! I am a cradle Roman Catholic/revert, too. I thought that swimming the Tiber was a relay race. One side to the other and back again. I didn’t realize(until later;) ) that I was supposed to cross and STAY there!👍
 
I just found out yesterday what the Tiber Swim team was.

Here is my question? Do you count the year you were Confirmed,or when you made the decision to become Catholic?

Can someone answer another question? I tried posting it but nobody responded.😦

What is the difference between “new,regular,senior…etc” member status?🤷

I should add that my conversion from atheism was sudden and miraculous. It literally took less than one breath to go from a dedicated atheist and 20+ year enemy of Christianity to Catholic in my heart.

I am using the year of my confirmation. My conversion happened in 2003. I spent 17 months in RCIA.

The member level designation is a combination of how long you have been a member and the number of posts you have made.

It took me 17 years to become Catholic, and for most of that time, I wasn’t even aware that I was “in the river,” so to speak, so I count the year of my Confirmation. 🙂
 
I ask your indulgence and that of the moderator of this thread that if there is a better thread on which to post the following, please let me know or feel free to move it. I am interested in replies to help this couple. I tried to post it over at the chforum, but it never “took”.

The wife of a couple I know wants to leave the (Charismatic Episcopal Church) CEC and join the RCC. The husband does not want to leave the CEC. He grew up in the RCC and has no intention of going back.

They had reached a “compromise” before Advent that they would both go to the AMiA (Anglican Mission in America) parish. They only went once in 5 weeks…many excuses–mostly by the husband. The husband then notified the wife he was returning to the CEC the wife informed the husband she had no intention of going back, but would instead join the RCC where she has wanted to be for many years.
