Good question! Weren’t potatoes indigenous to the Americas? That would make German potato salad a relatively recent advent all things considered.

Without thinking to check the hurricane naming schedule, I named one of the barn kittens Marco. I couldn’t understand why my mom thought that was a weird choice, and as I rarely watch the news, I only realized when the hurricane was mentioned in here… 😅

I watched one of the Bourne movies, I don’t remember which one. It didn’t grab me. I never watched another one. Never heard of a movie called Speed.
 
Time to check out Community Supported Fisheries ( search CSF esp. Sitka, AK). My daughter and SIL joined this co-op type of buying wild caught salmon and other fish to not only get unbelievably fresh fish but to support the smaller fishing boats. It eliminates the middle man and these families/villages practice ecosystem based management of their livelihood.
 
TIL how to put accent and exclamation marks on Spanish words/sentences while using my Kindle. Couldn’t seem to figure it out and stubbornly refused to ask for help. Stumbled onto the answer accidentally! D’oh!! And 'fessing up, it was yesterday not today. I wasn’t going to share this lack of knowledge but what the hey. You’ve got to be able to laugh at yourself. Adiós.

TIL that in 2004 a black bear in Washington State was found passed out drunk. Wildlife officials later determined it drank 36 cans of Rainier beer. The bear only consumed a single can of Busch beer from the same cooler.
