That is what it is like to be a guy everyday. The media sucker punches you, the legal system sucker punches you, and quite often even the women in your life that are supposed to love you do the same. Men can’t sit next to unaccompanied minors on a Virgin Australia flight without being humiliatingly asked to move because according to them we are all pedophiles. If you are an old guy looking for book for your grandkids you can get thrown out of a book store. Why do you think card stores sell cards that belittle men? Because women buy them! Companies don’t keep making products that don’t sell and I doubt men are buying cards that humiliate themselves. Please stop blaming the entire female gender for the poor behavior of some females. SilentFactor, whatever good points you make in your posts get drowned out by the sucker punches you aim at women. Your frequent use of hyperbole and your way of saying “women do this” or “women are that” is insulting and untrue of of womankind. It completely discounts the virtues of innumerable good and holy women who are vocally opposed to male-bashing and other forms of sexism.
Good holy women opposed to male bashing? Where??? I don’t see them on TV. I don’t read of them in the newspaper or internet news websites. I don’t see them organizing campaigns or getting behind the ones that do exist. Blogs don’t count for much. Formation of a White House Council for Boys and Men failed creation even though it is desperately needed. Why did it fail? Because the feminist lobby thought it was going to take away from women’s issues. Supposedly only 30% of the female population calls themselves feminists. What on God’s earth are the other 70% doing? Do they not care about the damage they are letting 30% do to this country’s male population? (i.e. their sons, fathers, brothers, uncles, etc) How about a women’s movement (or gender neutral one) by that 70% to neutralize the poison spread by the 30%? It seems like some women think the answer is call themselves a feminist but pay the lip service to caring about men. Actions speak louder than words.
Little of what I said is hyperbole. It’s called cultural behavior. Go to a card store and see how many sexist cards against men exist. When I was in the cards store a few weeks ago I wanted to vomit on the selection. I refuse to ever buy a card for anyone. Either I’ll make my own or just not give one. Ever hear of husband bashing (marriagemissions.com/husband-bashing/#comments)??) Much bigger problem than “wife bashing.” Husband bashing is relational aggression too except women are doing it to men. We have lots of legislation, support groups, etc for women who are abused by men but what advocacy do we have for men abused by women? Virtually none. If a guy divorces his emotionally abusive wife he is shooting himself in the foot with alimony / child support.
