Has anyone ever experienced this or heard of this in the writings of the saints? Like everything stops for a few seconds. If so, what did you/they see?

I have. it’s called senility… you get it when you get old…😃 😃

I haven’t read anything about this, but I could only assume that when the saints said time stopped, they probably meant that they were focusing on something so special, probably Jesus or Virgin Mary, etc and nothing around them was matter. They felt joy in their souls.

I had this experience. I relieved the preceeding two weeks of my life in real time. Yet it took less than an evening. I do not know how long, it may have been a few hours, it may have been a few seconds, I do not know.

I do know that this was how I became a Catholic Christian. When the experience started, I was an atheist, when it ended, I knew the God is real and He was pointing me to the Catholic Church.

There were a few things that led up to this that gave the experience a context.

That’s amazing. Thank you for sharing.

Interesting.
I might suggest that the occasional bi-locutions of Saint Padre Pio could be seen as a type of time/space shifting.

Also, the miracles of the sun at Fatima could possibly fit in this category.

Everything in this world alludes to a concept of time, the rhythmns of all life give a perception of time, but it is only relative to this world. Time is nothing but a perception that is measurable and time does not stop but is eternally present and therefore we can say that there is only the eternal moment.

We see a sequence and an order, there is night and there is day, but these two are seperated out in this world, however they are not seperate but are one and of the same nature, each being an equal and an opposite, light is to dark what dark is to light, neither can be defined without the other.

I once took a photograph of the sky, a very beautiful sunset and the sky seemed to boil in red and amber clouds rolling across it. It struck me at that moment that shifting clouds only serve to deceive man into a perception of time.

It is because our mortal frame is not immortal that we live in a limited eternity, that is time, but once we shed the body and are clothed in Christ in the eternal spiritual body we shall see that we did infact already live in the eternal but our perception of it was limited by a perception of ‘time’.

Time does not exist, does not start or stop, but time can only be named and measured as one thing, eternal.

The goldfish thinks there is only the pond, he sees the top of the pond, the bottom of the pond and the left and right of the pond, it isn’t until he is lifted up and out of the pond that he knows anything else exists. So we are in a bigger pond and eventually we are lifted up and out of this world and then we know for sure God exists eternally and time is perception. You can bet that little fish when he gets put back into the pond tells all the other little fishes what he saw outside of the pond, but perhaps they do not believe him!

Jesus came to us and told us what is outside of the ‘world’ and He came into the world to raise the entire world up to Him in eternity. For now we go by faith, we must believe Him and live here in limited exile structured in this perception of time to love and serve Him and each other.

For the glory of God a little saint may be lifted out of the pond of this world whilst still in the world and afterwards tells what they saw of the eternal moment and of the Immortal One.

God Bless

Hey right before my colonoscopy, they were injecting a couple of sedatives. I was looking at the clock, and while everyone around me was moving, the clock on the wall stopped. I mean the second hand wasn’t ticking anymore. Weird dudes and dudettes.
