This is exactly why newspapers/magazines/etc. really ought to insist on their religion writers having more than a passing knowledge of, well, religion.

It might behoove you to reread Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and reevaluate the appropriateness of comparing our Holy Father to the pre-conversion Scrooge.If it’s not disrespectful to call a friend of yours Scrooge, then it’s not here either.
