So now these protestors are destroying Saints statues & attacking churches.

Remember how horrified everybody was at all
Of the media coverage of ISIS attacking churches?

Does this change anyone’s opinions that Tim Gordon spoke too harshly about what was happening?

Perhaps you can, but it’s not always the best, or most just way to handle things. Some situations simply call for stronger language.
“Stronger language” doesn’t require calling names and dehumanizing people.

He also recently compared liberals to the weasley coked up yuppie guy from Die Hard and showed a gif of him being shot.

If you’re going to be a teacher of children, you have to have tact and are held to a higher standard in the public sphere.

Sometimes using an apt name can be helpful in getting the point across. It’s pretty trite to focus on the word “bug”, instead of the actual real destruction which they’re carrying out to legitimately merit that word. In terms of dehumanization, it is the rioters themselves that are guilty of that by sinking to the level of brute animal passion instead of acting like rational human beings. Calling them “bugs” simply acknowledges that fact in a pretty tame manner. I’m not sure what you think a better alternative would have been.

If this whole thing degenerates into actual civil war, I can guarantee you no one except maybe some diocesan bureaucrats, and a few posters on here apparently, is going to give two hoots about mild insults like this.

I encourage you to read up on the tropes used to dehumanize victims during various genocides, including the Holocaust and the genocide in Rwanda. This isn’t even remotely “a stretch.”
Seems like a red-herring. I’m not sure what comparison you’re trying to draw. Would it have been wrong to call a Nazi or a Hutu killer a “bug”, and claim that it’s difficult to co-exist with them? I think probably not. If you’re trying to compare anti-rioters with Nazis or Hutu killers, I’m not sure how that equates. These rioters are not victims in this context.

Respectfully, this sort of response is why I urged you to become educated on the topics I mentioned. Until you’ve done so, I’ve nothing more to offer you.

Respectfully, you’re going to have to be a little more specific on what point you feel like I need to be educated on. Such a generalized response gives the impression that you yourself aren’t very sure of the point you were trying to make.
