I also submited another thread about tips for praying the rosary but in this one, I’d like to ask for some suggestions for personal prayers.
I’ve taken 3 times the Prayer and Life workshops of Father Ignacio Larrañaga and I go to a monthly “dessert” retreat (it’s like a short silent retreat). This has helped me in my personal prayer but, I’ve found that doing the interior silencing is sometimes difficult/exasperating for me.
Sometimes I fall asleep while silencing my mind, because I relax too much, so then I’m sleepy when I actually start any of the prayer modalities.
I also practice lectio divina quite frequently. I try to do it every day but I still long for a deeper prayer time with the Lord. Going to visit the Holy Sacrament can also be quite challenging sometimes. I try to go at least once a week because I live in El Salvador and I can only get there by bus and the security situation here isn’t so great. But I do try to go there as much as I can.
Any tips for having a much deeper prayer? I really do miss having an intimate moment with the Lord. I appreciate any advice you can give me
. God bless!
