I had an experience this morning that I wanted to share:
I haven’t been getting a lot of sleep lately (despite, really, a very comfy bed and many, many pillows - something about those late night bathroom trips and being kicked awake by a kid in utero
). I do try to pray in the mornings and I find that really helps me throughout the day regardless of how tired I am. I have a book of devotions that I use a lot first thing in the morning and right before bed.
Anyway, this morning I got stuck while reading my book on the strangest word I had ever seen - “hurribly.” Now, I was an English major and I have a pretty good vocabulary. But this one was a head-scratcher. I re-read the sentence at least 10 times to see if there was a typo. This book isn’t known for using slang, but maybe an attempt to combine “hurry” and “horrible?”
Finally, after five minutes of trying to figure it out, it hit me - the word I was reading was “humbly.” I hadn’t separated the letters properly. :doh2:
I’m sure a lot of us have dealt with “tired think” every once in a while, frequently to humorous effect. Anyone else have fun stories to share?
