To the clerics that are against the TLM

I would submit that a properly formed priest does not “give into” abuses of the liturgy when he knows that they are violations of the rubrics. Be serious. Do you think FSSP priests who sometimes say the NO Mass get swept up in an uncontrollable urge to abuse the liturgy???.
Poor argument. The FSSP didn’t exist in the 60’s, 70’s, or early to mid 80’s. As we both know, they were formed specifically to celebrate the TLM. One cannot equate an Order that was formed specifically for the TLM… and the rampant wave of “Rome said it’s OK, so LET’S GO CRAZY!!” attitude especially popular in the 60’s and 70’s.
I"Nonsense" like the Mahoney Masses isn’t commonplace. Yes, they happen to often but it doesn’t mean it is commonplace.
Really? Go to the largest Catholic archdiocese in the United States to see just how commonplace they are. Or for that matter, visit San Francisco, or Boston, or New York, or even some of the sleepy little Deaneries here in the Diocese of Raleigh, complete with football pennants, NASCAR-esque high fives given by the chior prior to Mass, Pop-Rock tunes played during Mass, and the ever popular “Our Father and Mother who art in Heaven…”

In my short 20 years in the USMC, I’ve seen thge same do-it-yourself luv-fest in the Archdiocese of Wash, DC; Baltimore; the diocese of San Diego; Charleston, Raleigh, Erie, Tucson, Pheonix, etc.

It may not have been every single mass… but it sure was commonplace.

I’ve never attended a SSPX Mass, but I do belong to a Tradtional Parish. Who said there was some bad joo-joo coming from the pulpit? What was that in reference to, talking about sin and the way to holiness, instead of love, love love?

I see the separation coming from liberal catholics who are already disobedient.
By bad joo-joo I mean the SSPX priest saying things like it is better to stay home and read you '62 missal than to go to a Novus Ordo. (That is, if you are not able to make it to a TLM for some reason on Sunday). I guess the SSPX is exempt from mortal sin in those cases.

I attend an indult myself.

Apparently the SSPX priest has read his Canon Law.

C 1248, §2 If it is impossible to assist at a eucharistic celebration, either because no sacred minister is available or for some other grave reason, the faithful are strongly recommended to take part in a liturgy of the Word, if there be such in the parish church or some other sacred place, which is celebrated in accordance with the provisions laid down by the diocesan Bishop; or to spend an appropriate time in prayer, whether personally or as a family or, as occasion presents, in a group of families.

He just wants to be disobedient.

The Novus Ordo is a Eucharistic celebration.

Oh, but I guess they meant if it is not a Eucharisitic celebration you like, or a liturgy you prefer, then it is okay to skip it and read your missal.

I can’t stand half of the Masses around here, but I am not going to skip Mass all together if I can’t make it down to the TLM. And this priest was advocating doing just that. Like I said, I prefer the Mass there, but really have to be wary of what you hear from the pulpit.
