First, it may be a language issue. The NAB has this portion of Genesis translated as God “moving about” in the garden, not “walking”. “Moving about” could mean some type of rustling or movement other than walking.

Second, if we accept the translation “walking,” it’s possible for God to manifest in some type of glorified body that could walk, but unless we are talking about Jesus, God would not be in a human flesh and blood body. He could take on a human form but still be a spirit.

It is true that the Father and the Holy Spirit have no material nature; they are perfect spirit, beyond our senses.

my pastor of my parish said that God the Father and God the Holy Spirit were both Spirits
I think his point was about the significance of the incarnation of Jesus. There are many ways to look at that, but briefly, if God were only spirit and not human as well, our relationship with God would be totally different. I suspect that the priest meant that the Father and the Holy Spirit are spirit persons, not flesh and blood persons like Jesus.

I am probably older than your parents. And there are reasons parents, and those of parents’ age, say the things they say. It comes from a collection of wisdom.

He had his resurrected body. Physical bodies don’t enter rooms without opening the door. They don’t disappear (Emmaus).

Yes, I don’t know what we can say about a resurrected body other than it can be both physical and nonphysical. It is in an entirely different class of being.

And that is why we call it a mystery.

I always suggest that people who have entered the Church through RCIA go and read the accounts in scripture of everything from the Resurrection to the Ascension, several times slowly, and take notes each time. It is a mystery, and it is a little bit of a foretelling of the resurrection of our bodies.

We don’t always like mystery…even if we have to speculate an answer.

Well I was just talking to my dad and read the CCC about the spirit of God. All three were spirit. Then in the incarnation of Jesus that began his human and also devine life here on earth. His human life ended about 30 life span and the third day his glorified body was seen by his apostles in the upper room. They thought he was a ghost but he ate with them. Thomas doubted and he said put your fingers in the nail holes and put your hand in my side. So Jesus is not only spirit he has a glorified body also. God bless

Some people have said that thinking about it causes one’s head to hurt. If the brightest theologians we have had in the last 2,000 years say it is a mystery, we need to pay attention.

Psalm 131
1 O LORD, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty; Nor do I involve myself in great matters, Or in things too difficult for me.
2 Surely I have composed and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child rests against his mother, My soul is like a weaned child within me.
