How do you define hatred? It can be argued either way: We can feel hatred towards the world or we can experience peace and love towards the world. I personally feel great hatred toward the world, but I do not feel angry. Indeed, I believe God is leading me in this miserable and corrupt world to everlasting happiness in Heaven.
I’m sure there are many perspectives that a good Catholic can have, and so I would like your experience here.
Is it the opposite of love? If the definition of love is to will the good of the other is the definition of hate to will the destruction of the other? Do you will the destruction of the world? And by the word, world, do you mean other people in this world, the environment, the animals, plants? Do you wish their destruction?
I think we are called to be detached to the things of this world, to not put too much importance to them. However recall the words of John 3:16 and God’s love for the world, so much so that He gave His only Son to die for it.
