Tony Blair a Catholic for 10 years?

I thought this was fairly recent, though? Like within the last two or three years.
 
The article states he was always a Catholic, (at least in his heart), but lied about it while he was in office because he thought it would cause him problems.
 
This blog raises some issues that are common among Catholics in the UK regarding the Blairs and Tony’s “conversion”.

His official conversion was in the last two years but he has attended Catholic church for a long time before that. That was known.
