It is funny though to see the Church’s teachings (not “attitudes”) described as “entrenched”. That’s the whole point, no?
Tony Blair has given an interview to the gay magazine Attitude in which he calls for Pope Benedict to rethink the Church’s “entrenched” attitude on homosexuality. Well, the Pope would rather like Mr Blair to rethink his entrenched support for abortion, but he hasn’t done so, has he?
. . . . .
And, again, I may have missed this, but I have yet to read an interview with Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor in which the (thankfully) soon-to-be-former leader of Catholics in England and Wales attacks the shocking track record of the man he received into the Church.
Well, Mr Blair seems to have found his way to the cafeteria, but who can blame him – he probably sees the same thing from all his fellow Catholics. On the contrary: the Cardinal is rumoured to be planning to take up some sort of advisory position with Tony Blair’s revoltingly PC Faith Foundation. That’s in the former PM’s gift, presumably. A peerage for CMOC is in the gift of the current PM.
