AMEN!I’m waiting for Tony Blair to re-think his line on Catholicism.
AMEN!I’m waiting for Tony Blair to re-think his line on Catholicism.
Technically, Jesus said nothing on the topic, as far as I can remember…It’s not the Pope’s to decide. Christ spoke quiet clearly on the subject.
I hate the attitude that seems to be that the Church has to “get with the times”. God’s laws stand throughout time, not just when they’re in fashion or when society cares to acknowledge them.![]()
The problem with this is that no scientist dares to do this kind of research.I believe that homosexuality is a disorder, just as the Church teaches.
I simply am waiting for a cure for homosexuality to pop out of pharmaceutical research.
There was an article in a science magazine that I got in the mail today, about how these rats with identical genes develop differently as a result of maternal diet during gestation.
Homosexuality occurs around the world and was well-known in the oldest biblical times. I conclude that it is very easy to develop homosexuality, but science is simply not looking at the real causes.
Scientists, in contrast, now have the genetic makeup of all the viruses that cause the common cold. Research into fetal development has to reach that level, and even deeper, below the molecular level, to figure out where the treatment and cure for homosexuality may be.
It is not less pressure from the Church which is needed to get there, it is to maintain a constant pressure on science (quite a role reversal) to do its job in eliminating this disorder.
We already see them as equals…equally flawed, equally wounded, equally sinful, equally in need of a Savior, equally called to the chastity appropriate to their state of life, and equally capable of becoming saints in Heaven.Speaking to the gay magazine Attitude, the former Prime Minister, himself now a Roman Catholic, said that he wanted to urge religious figures everywhere to reinterpret their religious texts to see them as metaphorical, not literal, and suggested that in time this would make all religious groups accept gay people as equals…

Exactly what I was thinking.Probably no more so than the rest of the folks who go through RCIA “Lite.”![]()

Frankly one wonders why he even decided to become Catholic in the first place. The teaching here is so vividly clear.Speaking to the gay magazine Attitude, the former Prime Minister, himself now a Roman Catholic, said that he wanted to urge religious figures everywhere to reinterpret their religious texts to see them as metaphorical, not literal, and suggested that in time this would make all religious groups accept gay people as equals…

Good points! The problem with this is that no scientist dares to do this kind of research.
Various medical boards have an official stance that homosexuality is not a disorder, and that people who label it as such will be ousted. We have psychologist acquaintances who treat homosexuality, but they don’t tell anyone because they could lose their license to practice.
Under the Roman Emperors, it would’ve also been socially beneficial for the Church to worship the Emperor, but not right.Technically, Jesus said nothing on the topic, as far as I can remember…
But from a social standpoint, Mr. Blair is right. It’d be beneficial for the RCC. From a doctrinal standpoint, he is misguided.
“Swamp Yankee”? I like that…There is another thread in this forum with the same theme. I said there that Mr. Blair cannot be trusted. Just as he joined the RCC, he turned around and wags his finger at my Pope. Is he for real? Brother Blair needs to learn his place. Again, he cannot be trusted. He is like a wolf that sneaks into the fold and attacks the shepard. Pray for him as you would pray for an enemy.
It’s a conversion of the heart issue…Intelligence clouds conversion, that’s why we come to Jesus with the faith of a child…Being in Christ’s church and being lukewarm is a scary place…Yes, he needs prayer…Mr. Blair is adding to public scandal when he says anything against the clear teaching of the Church. He is a very intelligent man and I find it hard to believe that as a former statesman, he does not know how his words are perceived by people in general.
Pray for him.Peace, Ed
So Mr Blair is now the arbiter of Biblical translation.Speaking to the gay magazine Attitude, the former Prime Minister, himself now a Roman Catholic, said that he wanted to urge religious figures everywhere to reinterpret their religious texts to see them as metaphorical, not literal, and suggested that in time this would make all religious groups accept gay people as equals…

Thanks Cracker Mom …ya know , this “Blair thing” really got me ta thinkin’. First I was annoyed at Blair’s hubris, and lack of humility. But, ( there’s always a but, isn’t there ) but then it seemed as if this were a deliberate action. Follow me here ya’ll, he joins the RCC and no sooner does he learn the Rosary, then he’s out front, stumping for change and reforms. Seems to me that the NWO folks are trying to drive a wedge through the RCC. No doubt many catholics will agree with Mr. Blair, and wonder why the Pope is such an old meany anyway. I wish we could eject Mr. Blair from the Church, run him out on a rail. Let the world see that we’re not putting up with any of this silly ****.“Swamp Yankee”? I like that…Great name!
