Consumers were advised on Friday to discard all toothpaste made in China after federal health officials said they found Chinese-made toothpaste containing a poison related to a chemical used in antifreeze in three locations — Miami, the Port of Los Angeles and Puerto Rico. Although there are no reports of anyone being harmed by the toothpaste, the Food and Drug Administration warned that the Chinese products have a “low but meaningful risk of toxicity and injury” to children and people with kidney or liver disease.

The United States is the seventh country to find tainted Chinese toothpaste within its borders in recent weeks. F.D.A. officials said they found toothpaste containing a small amount of diethylene glycol, a sweet syrupy poison, at a Dollar Plus retail store in Miami, sold under the brand name ShiR Fresh Mint Flouride Paste. The F.D.A. also identified another nine brands of Chinese toothpaste that contain diethylene glycol, some with concentrations of between 3 percent and 4 percent.

…

The agency said toothpaste containing diethylene glycol is sold under the names of Cooldent Flouride, Cooldent Spearmint; Cooldent ICE; Dr. Cool; Superdent, Clean Rite, Oralmax Extreme, Oral Bright, Bright Max, and ShiR Fresh Mint.

The Chinese government is annoyed that it was so publicized. Apparently the ingredient that is used is also used in anti-freeze. They say it is minimal. There may be some truth to that.

The distributors in the US are now feeding that tainted dog food to the pigs and cattle in US to give them protein. Apparently they didn’t want to throw it away.

The US injects our cattle with steroids and our fruits have repeatedly spread with loads of pesticides. We grind dogs and other animals that are killed in shelters to give again to cattle and pigs to increase their protein level. Isn’t that how we got Mad Cow disease?

There is a lot of strange things that have happened for years.

Chinese exports of toothpaste to the United States account for $3.3 million out of a $2 billion dollar market in America, F.D.A. officials said. “The scope of this is fairly small when you look at all the toothpaste that is consumed in the U.S.,” said Doug Arbesfeld, an F.D.A. spokesman.
Thanks for the links. It does seem like a very small dollar market to make a national case against the Chinese.

Actually it is not apparent that the toothpaste is hazardous. No one is going to eat a couple of tubes of it. However it comes on top of the poison cough syrup supplied to Central America, the poisoned pet food, the puffer fish sold as monk fish and few others that were real threats. I will avoid any food stuffs with a connection to China until they have time to tighten up their standards.

It sounds like the Chinese are consistently trying to wipe out all life on planet earth. First the animals then us. The Communists must still be in charge over there.

Of course they are. If it wouldn’t be for our thirst for cheap Chinese products, and our investing, they would have tried to wipe us out years ago. Now they are content with wrecking our entire industrial complex.
