  1. Starvation
  2. Abortion
  3. Lack of basic health care
  4. Tyranny
  5. War
I can explain further, if they are not understandable, but I believe they are self-evident. I flopped back and forth on 4 and 5. I think those change with the times.

Israel’s persecution of Muslims
???

1,2,3,4 &5. Artificial Contraception. Most of the other current societal ills flow from it, from abortion to porn addiction to child neglect to economic hardship, to the degradation of marriage, on and on.

Israel’s persecution of Muslims
Just to add some balance:

Israel, a country of 8,000,000 is surrounded by 1 billion Muslims who would love to see it wiped from the map. Israel lives in a fraction of what used to be its homeland. Arab countries use the Palestinians as pawns, since it suits their interests.

BTW Israeli Arabs actually get to vote in free elections - unlike their Muslim brothers and sisters elsewhere… e.g., Muslim countries.

Abortion
The conditions of our prisons
Euthanasia / legal suicide
The erosion of conscience exceptions in our laws
The toxicity of our popular culture

How do child neglect and economic hardship fow from contraception?

That’s not balance. You answered someone else’s nonsense with your own nonsense.

Edit: you assume that every Muslim on the planet wants to see Israel wiped off the map, which isn’t true; you say that Israel lives on a fraction of what it used to be, though in fact Israel has been growing consistently for the last 70 years by subsuming territory from its neighbors, and is still illegally expanding into Arab territory as we speak via the settlements; and the reason why so many Palestinians don’t get to vote probably has something to do with the fact that Israel has effectively outlawed their right to have a government. Two wrongs do not make a right.

While it may understandable from a cynical point of view to limit their self-determination for fear that a Palestinian state would be hostile, the very fact that they limit Palestinian self-determination is what makes the Palestinians (understandable) hostile. Likewise, blockading Gaza may make sense as far as preventing the import of arms… but it also impoverishes and oppresses the inhabitants of Gaza, giving them reason to want to import arms in the first place. It is a vicious cycle that cannot be broken by its perpetuation.

Nonsense?

How many people live in Israel?
How many live in all the Islamic countries surrounding it?
How many of those countries would rejoice if Israel were wiped off the map?
Some examples in a 3 minute google search:

In an October 2012 sermon broadcast on Egyptian Channel 1 (which was attended by
Egyptian President Muhammad Morsi) Futouh Abd Al-Nabi Mansour, the Head of Religious Endowment of the Matrouh Governorate, prayed…:
Oh Allah, absolve us of our sins, strengthen us, and grant us victory over the infidels. Oh Allah, destroy the Jews and their supporters. Oh Allah, disperse them, rend them asunder. Oh Allah, demonstrate Your might and greatness upon them.

Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, the imam of the Grand mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, has publicly prayed to God to ‘terminate’ the Jews.
Saudi textbooks … still call Jews apes (and Christians swine); demand that students avoid and not befriend Jews; claim that Jews worship the devil; and encourage Muslims to engage in Jihad to vanquish Jews.
Tunisian imam Sheikh Ahmad Al-Suhayli of Radès, told his followers during a live broadcast on Hannibal TV that “God wants to destroy this [Tunisian] sprinkling of Jews and is sterilizing the wombs of Jewish women."

And we know what Iran thinks of Israel.

How many Arab states describe the holocaust as a fraud? All.
How many women get to vote in the Islamic states? None.

Fact - Israel is a state surrounded by Islamic countries with a population of 1.2 billion.

It’s really not. Thats down to personal choice not injustice.
A Catholic not living their faith is one of the gravest offences against God and is therefore the prime source of injustice in the world.

“If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world ablaze!” -St. Catherine of Sienna.

And this justified Israeli soldiers killing Palestinian Arab civilians how? Or bulldozing homes for the ethnic expansion of Jews into the West Bank? Where’s the connection? 'So if some Muslims over there say that, then it’s okay to kill these Muslims over here and their kids too, 'cause hey, they’re all Muslims anyway, right?"

It would appear the ads around here for Robert Spencer’s questionable scholarship (questionable is me being polite) are working.

I would have to say that my number- one concern in need of change would be relativist/modernist thought and tendencies. We see throughout history (especially the decline of the Roman empire) that relativism and the disintegration of morality/virtue brings about the downfall of societies.

God have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Would disease count as an injustice? Failure to treat easily curable diseases in many throughout the world would score high numerically (number of people who die per year) but low I guess on the malevolence scale, as it’s mostly due to lack of awareness. In any case, if greater dispensation of treatment for easily curable diseases isn’t a top 5 injustice, then it’s at least a top 5 problem.

  1. world hunger
  2. contaminated , or stolen, water sources
  3. see number 1
  4. see number 2
  5. consumption and waste in western countries, esp the U.S.

And you LEAP from these facts to a statement that I justify force in a particular situation?

How did you arrive at that conclusion?

I’d like to show you how my stating facts about Israel = justifying any form of violence by any person or institution on another in a particular situation?

The facts speak for themselves, and Israel as a sovereign nation has a right to self determination and self defence.

BTW Israel seems better than Muslim countries at letting its Muslim citizens have a vote, and insisting that a Muslim sits on the board of each corporation, and in allowing Muslim parties to run in elections, and in allowing Muslims to sit in the Knesset. You don’t see any Muslim countries extending the same rights to Jews (or Christians).

Potable freshwater may not be a problem right now, but can easily become a severe issue in the future if nothing is done proactively to ensure that people the world over have continued access to drinking water.

I agree: and this is connected to clear-cutting, mono-culture farming, stripmining.

1.) Islamic Law in Arabic lands
2.) terrorism
3.) nation building
4.) ghetto style pop-culture
5.) Lesbian school teachers

  1. Abortion / Euthanasia
  2. Abuses of Capitalism
  3. Moral Relativism
  4. Continued Funding (and existence) USCCB’s “Campaign for Human Development”
  5. Incorrect Interpretation of Catholic Social Teaching (See Catholic Health Association, #4.)
