For the gays, these perfidious people, may God remove the gunk and the filth from the hearts of these a-historical bigots. :crossrc:

For all the complaints about the Patriot Act and wiretapping here in the U.S., at least you won’t get fined or arrested for criticizing homosexuality.

Can Canada really be considered democratic by threatening free speech in such a manner?

Canada is NOT democratic
Everything’s decided by the Supreme Court - 9 people,
or by these kind of gay rights activists, who are probably 2% of the population, because no one wants to “offend” them…maybe thats why we’re such gritty hockey players, we have so much built up anger we can’t expel because of our ridiculously PC policies.

I thought so. Unfortunately, we have elements in the United States who have no problem with following Canada’s example, yet complain about the Patriot Act. They want their own dictatorship as long as they’re the ones behind it.

And they’ll all be saying “Heil Clinton”.

This won’t go on for much longer. All this gay rights thing is at the breaking point. The buzz on campus is pretty hostile. People are tired of hearing our Campus gay rights activists complaining about no gender neutral bathrooms…at campus council meetings the speaker order is “Male, Non-Male” for trans-gendered (i brought up why not “female-non-female” and got some pretty rough looks), and on and on and on.

The last 40 years of history have gotten progressively worse, and now we’re having oral sex orgies in the streets of san-francisco (folsom fair…) We are going to reach a turning point. I am sad to be a Canadian over this, but there are some of us who are vocal.

Get involved in your local politics, get involved in campus politics, remember where you came from and who you are speaking for (Jesus), and always be charitable. People persecute me on campus, never the other way around. Even one person can make a difference!

Hail clinton, obama, bush, edwards, doesn’t matter it’s all the same money. Here’s who needs a little more hailing by all of us:

Hail Mary full of Grace…

Good question. Canada’s definition of democracy is “Minority Rules!” Free speech is accepted only when it’s politically correct.

Pax vobiscum
Good Fella

Indeed. 👍

The reason why they can supposedly say this is because of the ‘reasonable limits’ clause in our charter. The g’vnt can limit our rights if they see it fit. It sucks, but it’s life.

And we have the right to ignore those limits.

When “Positive Law” conflicts with Natural Law, we have a right and a duty to oppose such laws even if it means persecution.

A good quote from Fr. John Corapi, and one of his famous ones,

“the devil donned a judicial robe”, in reference to roe v. wade, but applies here too.

Say what you will anyways. I do at school. Say Merry Christmass instead of happy holidays. Make sure people know what you think about religious gay marriage, let people know they are sinning and that you love them but not their sin.

People are so surprised when i tell them that if i have premarital sex with my gf it is the same sin as a gay couple engaging in homosexual acts (about the same). We are all called to be chaste.

The church is an equal opportunity discriminator, no one can have recreational sex period! But, because we are raised to be tolerant, suddenly that becomes a big slander against the gay movement. I have gay friends, they are wonderful people and i love them to death. But i dont love their sin. Just like i dont like my friends’ sleeping around. Or when my buddy drinks to the point that he passes out in the snow and has to be taken to the hospital. I love him to death, but i hate his sin.

Jesus is real, the gospel is real, the bible is VERY clear on this subject. Admonish sinners but do so with charity. Love the sinner but hate the sin, hate it so much.

So what if they toss me in jail, they can’t take Jesus from me. It is NEVER right to choose what is wrong.

Yeah really. At least we have freedom of speech in the United States. That is one thing I am very thankful for. 👍

I can honestly say as a Canadian and a former student of the government-run “Catholic” schools, the freedoms in this country are only a facade. I have been critical of the political system in the United States in the past, but at the very least Americans know that their government is bound to protect the constitutional rights of the people, not dispense with them at a whim.

The Catholic Church in Canada has been trampled into the dirt by the government and the liberal media. Catholic students have been brainwashed by teachers with agendas, heretical curriculums. Those who point out the moral evil of homosexual marriage are accused of hate crimes; abortionists who should be hanged for their murders are given awards and honors; and Catholic politicians waffle on major issues.

Sheesh – how 'bout a little charity, brother? I mean, we all have motes in our eyes, haven’t we? 😉

Peace,
Dante

Just to clarify, I agree that we must disobey this law in lew of the fact that we must obey God’s law (that is the law of the Catholic Church).👍

Canada has a similar law as the U.S. as “Freedom of the Press.” To complain is nothing more than to complain. The magazine has that right to print its opinions.

That complaint cannot get wings.:knight1:
