Thanks for the explanations and the links. I don’t understand how sandusky could find my statement “selfishly ambitious” when I’ve made it clear all along that I would remain faithful to my husband even if he is not faithful to me. If he committed adultery, that would certainly make my marriage worse, but I vowed to stay married to him “for better or for worse.”

It is confusing. As a married woman myself, I am in agreement with you. I don’t know what the objection could be to a woman who states that she will remain faithful to her husband for better or for worse.

In reading these posts, I haven’t seen an answer to the question, would it be ok for Protestant churches to allow remarriage after divorce, if those churches also had an annulment process? I’d be interested in reading responses to that.

Just my opinion, but I’d say, “Of course.” Since the annulment process would simply be their determination that a marriage never truly existed in the first place, they could back the “remarriage” because in fact there would neither be a real remarriage nor a divorce.
