I’m still new to all of this, but you people are doing a good job of making me isolate even further.

“God save us from gloomy saints!”

At least those doctors tend to have clear answers. They don’t confuse me even more. 🙂

I’ve been there – sometimes it’s a sign to step away from this place for a few. It can be unhealthy…

I just tell myself that gloomy posters are going through a rough patch. Or else that they are trolls with a delightfully ironic sense of humor. Either way, it makes them more human and/or jovial in my eyes. 😁

What do all of you guys think of the Charismatic “renewal” which seems to be prevalent in the Church now?
I think it is wonderful. It is the work of the Holy Spirit. It is the result of prayer and longing for the Holy Spirit.
What do you think about the claim that another Pentecost is taking place?
There is only one Pentecost, but it could be informally called another Pentecost I suppose. The prayer of Pope John XXIII before the start of the second Vatican Council asked God to, “Let this age of ours, like another Pentecost, see once more the evidence of Thy power…”. He says, “like another Pentecost”. So I think it’s proper to say that since the Charismatic Renewal coincided with the end of VII, Pope John XXIII’s prayer should be held in high esteem with regard to the events that unfolded after the Council.
Do you think trads ought to reject this whole movement?
The Advocate is here not just as a fad, but has come to fill even the trads. The Holy Spirit will make of us a work of art, all you have to do is let the Spirit into your heart. Why then, would you reject the Charismatic Renewal when the Holy Spirit is providing it to us as fuel.
