**Many Trad’s feel trapped in a liturgy that they do not like, BUT we have been there for almost 40 years. **
No I don’t try to fit in. I just attend Mass and pray. Our local FSSP expansion, to a closer church, has hit a “snag”. Seems its about some problem with a Building Use agreement. Seems kind of flakey to me but guess the Lawyers have got to have some justification for their existance.
We have been faithful to the church for decades but its been rather tough. We are so close to having a weekly TLM that I can taste it. According to the FSSP its just been postponed.
Excellent answer!!!
I am a Traditional Catholic…raised in the pre-Vatican II Church. For the past 40 yrs., I’ve had to attend a Mass that I find a Banal & tawdry celebration of self. It hasn’t been easy, sometimes I would leave Mass angry & a few times, I found myself with tears in my eyes as the priest sauntered up & down the aisles, shaking hands & sharing a few words with members of the laity who were seated on the ends of pews. I remember well, the first time I saw the Liturgical “dancers” & how I felt when we were told, from the pulpit, to pray for gay couples with adopted children…“as they are families, too”.
I must admit that, as the 20th century turned into the 21st, I found myself missing Mass for reasons (excuses) that would never have kept me away from the TLM. So my advice to the OP, is just keep going & doing the best you can & PRAY FOR A LATIN MASS in your area. Write to your Bishop &, if that doesn’t work, write to Ecclesia Dei. (It’s helpful to have a few others in your parish sign the letter). Explain that you aren’t asking for a parish that is exclusivly TLM., but would just like a TLM Mass or two… My Pastor went to the FSSP. & learned how to pray the Mass of the Ages.

We were talking about this very thing last night at RCIA where we were studying the Order of the Mass. Father did say that we could look forward to some changes in the litergy next year that will make it more like the Mass in pre-VII times. It will be interesting to see. The proposed changes are on the CCB website.
