I was so greatful father Nagle at holy family spoke the truth to me and helped JESUS change my life. I’m sorry this is the parish I grew up atIf you don’t have charity, how do you not go to hell??
I always love these conversations we have here on this topic: “We have a valid Eucharist and you don’t, nah nah nana nah”Yes. Very sad.
Mary.
The Catholic Church does not accept Martin Luther as an authority on any matter in any way, shape and form and excommunicated him as a heretic.Who, but the devil, has granted such license of wresting the words of the holy Scripture? Who ever read in the Scriptures, that my body is the same as the sign of my body? or, that is is the same as it signifies? What language in the world ever spoke so? It is only then the devil, that imposes upon us by these fanatical men. Not one of the Fathers of the Church, though so numerous, ever spoke as the Sacramentarians: not one of them ever said, It is only bread and wine; or, the body and blood of Christ is not there present.
It is enough for me that Christ’s blood is present; let it be with the wine as God wills. Before I would drink mere wine with the Enthusiasts, I would rather have pure blood with the Pope.Code:Surely, it is not credible, nor possible, since they often speak, and repeat their sentiments, that they should never (if they thought so) not so much as once, say, or let slip these words: It is bread only; or the body of Christ is not there, especially it being of great importance, that men should not be deceived. Certainly, in so many Fathers, and in so many writings, the negative might at least be found in one of them, had they thought the body and blood of Christ were not really present: but they are all of them unanimous.”
The glory of our God is precisely that for our sakes he comes down to the very depths, into human flesh, into the bread, into our mouth, our heart, our body.

I was always told the Eucharist was supposed to make us more like Christ - more grace filled.I was so greatful father Nagle at holy family spoke the truth to me and helped JESUS change my life. I’m sorry this is the parish I grew up at

Whoever Is Not Against Us Is for Us
“Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.”
“Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, for whoever is not against us is for us. Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward.
Mark 9:38
I’ll tell you this - Luther has done me a lot more good than this thread. God bless. The Catholic Church does not accept Martin Luther as an authority on any matter in any way, shape and form and excommunicated him as a heretic.
Mary.
My post was for those that lurk, that they not believe that Luther’s quote you posted is somehow authoritative in the Catholic Church.I’ll tell you this - Luther has done me a lot more good than this thread. God bless.
This is why I love German.Bibelkavenmitderkinder was a traditional German pastime.
The fatal flaw of Protestantism. The idea that God allowed his Church to be in error for 1500 yearsMaybe you could help me understand when Jesus handed off apostolic succession to Luther??
Just because someone believes something doesn’t make it true
catholicharboroffaithandmorals.com/St.%20Francis%20of%20Assisi%20and%20the%20Devil.htmlMy grandfather that was born in Germany told me as a child that Luther was visited by Satan and if you go to his study you can see the ink stain on the floor where Luther through ink at the devil
Funny, that’s not what Protestantism claims. The fatal flaw of Protestantism. The idea that God allowed his Church to be in error for 1500 years
According to American non denominational fundemantist they would think so, also if it isn’t true you should he catholicFunny, that’s not what Protestantism claims.
If you set up and tear down enough straw men to make your opponent lose interest, is that considered a win?According to American non denominational fundemantist they would think so, also if it isn’t true you should he catholic
Or terrify your opponent and/or fellow Catholic into thinking you are possessed by demons and that Luther was actually right after all.If you set up and tear down enough straw men to make your opponent lose interest, is that considered a win?
You aren’t my opponent I am just wondering as an Anglican what is holding you back… If you said you where episcapalian I now it would be morals but Anglican don’t get why your not catholicIf you set up and tear down enough straw men to make your opponent lose interest, is that considered a win?
I think I might. You aren’t my opponent I am just wondering as an Anglican what is holding you back… If you said you where episcapalian I now it would be morals but Anglican don’t get why your not catholic
We could trade Luther quotes all day of course but I’ll post my favorite.“The heart overflows with gladness, and leaps and dances for the joy it has found in God. In this experience the Holy Spirit is active, and has taught us in the flash of a moment the deep secret of joy. You will have as much joy and laughter in life as you have faith in God.”
