Because it isn’t a ban on Muslims per se, i.e., there are 53 Muslim majority nations, and only 7 of those nations are considered hotbeds for Islamic radicalization. People coming from these nations will be “vetted” and detained for a short while if they are cleared of any suspicious doings/backgrounds.Why isn’t Saudi, Pakistan, Turkey, Bangladesh, or Indonesia on the list? There are predominately Muslim countries.
And Saudi, Pakistan, and Afghanistan are not hotbeds?Because it isn’t a ban on Muslims per se, i.e., there are 53 Muslim majority nations, and only 7 of those nations are considered hotbeds for Islamic radicalization. I hardly think this is unconstitutional (it’s been done before at any rate).
You mean like we did in Vietnam…That’s news to me. If the US was at war with Iran, why did we not pulverize them?
For the umpteenth time, because they are not failed states that are controlled by terror organizations. The list of 7 countries, btw, is one that was created by the Obama administration. And Saudi, Pakistan, and Afghanistan are not hotbeds?
Wow, no bias in that article! [/extreme sarcasm mode]We’ll see how this all works out in court, and how the specifics of the Cater and Obama action are or are not the same as Trump.
But here is a terrific piece on the subject that exposes the little boys in the White House, who did this all by themselves.

Trump may very well have his clock cleaned. Can’t wait to get all of the juicy details from FOIA requests
That’s how liberal speak, extreme sarcasm and condescending overtones. They truly believe that nobody can be smarter than them!Wow, no bias in that article! [/extreme sarcasm mode]
And yet you think you’re smarter than the pope and our bishops? That’s how liberal speak, extreme sarcasm and condescending overtones. They truly believe that nobody can be smarter than them!
Nope, never said that. And yet you think you’re smarter than the pope and our bishops?
On some issues he has his own unique sets of talent, time and treasure that not even the Catholic elite have. And yet you think you’re smarter than the pope and our bishops?
I have never said they are wrong, especially not as flatly as you. Either way - this should be an easy bipartisan issueOn some issues he has his own unique sets of talent, time and treasure that not even the Catholic elite have.
Oh, I should point out too----where’s all of this “the Pope and bishops are smart” comments on threads about so-called gay “marriage” and abortion?

What countries are those? No. I am suggesting that the countries selected by Carter and Obama were narrow and specific to countries that the U.S. had immediate and current conflicts with.
Btw, I think Trump missed a few countries.
I agree. It should be an easy bipartisan issue. Keep people out who are not verified and set-up safe zones in Syria and Iraq.I have never said they are wrong, especially not as flatly as you. Either way - this should be an easy bipartisan issue
So…this means we should expand the list from 7 countries (drawn up by the Obama Administration) to 10?And Saudi, Pakistan, and Afghanistan are not hotbeds?
Since when do foreigners have Constitutional rights?Because it isn’t a ban on Muslims per se, i.e., there are 53 Muslim majority nations, and only 7 of those nations are considered hotbeds for Islamic radicalization. People coming from these nations will be “vetted” and detained for a short while if they are cleared of any suspicious doings/backgrounds.

So then why didn’t Obama add these countries to the list? That’s what I was thinking. Otoh I don’t know if those countries have any Trump hotels or other property with Trump’s name on them. It appears Trump doesn’t have business interests in his chosen 7.
