So if I’m not a policeman or a prosecutor, I can’t have an opinion on this case or discuss it publicly?
My dear brother/sister in Christ you are most intitled to your opinion. There’s many here as we all have witnessed. :D:thumbsup:

Zimmerman!!!
Sorry you are so upset here. I asked a simple question. You seemed to think that when someone is “playing Superman” they would be too busy to call 911. Zimmerman called 911, Martin didn’t.
Who cares if the kid called his girlfriend he’s a kid. Zimmerman should have waited for the 911 response. 🤷
All I indicated was that if Martin had called 911, instead of his girlfriend, his conversation would have been on tape. Now if this ever gets to a jury, they may write off her testimony, negating that he called anyone.
I would have fought for my life also and have how about you?
Since I have a concealed carry permit, yes I would fight for my life. But that may be all that Zimmerman was doing. According to him, he had turned away and was walking to his truck when Martin jumped him. In other words, he was following the instructions of the 911 dispatcher.
Okay…Give us your legal “list” of these “many” good reasons:shrug: I fail to see ONE!
Since I am not a lawyer, nor do I play one on the internet, I can only give you the reasons that the police have given, including the eye witness saying that Zimmerman was being beaten and the evidence of that beating.

Not upset, and I answered your simple question so this is now redundant. The Superman part came as I stated when he didn’t wait for the POLICE and decided to be a superhero, and for no good apparent reason? Can you think of one? Im very positive 911 didn’t say “Go Get Him”.

And right…so the many GOOD REASONs, in other words you have NOT ONE!👍

Interesting twist Zimmerman with the firearm was the victim? Hum, all the more reason perhaps he should have not been out there with one to begin with? What do you think?

A person with a gun uses it on a person who is unarmed? That’s one of the reasons I have a low opinion of carrying concealed hadnguns. The folks carrying them, not all though, tend to be deep into paranoia. Hear a strange noise? Whip out your piece. Hear footsteps behind you? Get the muzzle of the gun pointed at the person behind you. Etc., etc.

I will leave the conclusions to the Grand Jury, not to posters on a religious forum chewing the fat. 🤷

A 911 dispatcher has no authority to tell Zimmerman what to do. As I referenced earlier in the thread 911 dispatchers have a history of telling people to hide, including armed women with babies while someone is breaking in. So, I have to say that I wouldn’t blindly listen to a 911 dispatcher.
And right…so the many GOOD REASON, in other words you have NOT ONE!👍
A beaten bloody man claiming self defense, with a witness, isn’t a good reason? Would you also arrest a woman that had just been raped if she shot the rapist while he was on top of her?

I don’t have to agree that Zimmerman should have been arrested to agree that there was a better way for him to handle this.

"Trayvon Martin Killing: 911 Tape Reveals Possible Racial Slur by Neighborhood Watchman

By MATT GUTMAN (@mattgutmanABC) and SENI TIENABESO (@senijr_abc)
SANFORD, Fla., March 20, 2012

The Florida police department handling the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teen by a self-appointed neighborhood watch leader admitted to ABC News tonight that investigators missed a possible racist remark by the shooter as he spoke to police dispatchers moments before the killing.

The admission comes a day after the Justice Department announced that it has launched an investigation of the slaying of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman last month as a possible hate crime.

On a tape of one of Zimmerman's 911 calls the night of the shooting, he is heard saying under his breath what sounds like "f**ing coons." Seconds later he confronted Martin and after a brief scuffle shot him dead.

Click here to listen to an audio file of what Zimmerman said on the 911 call.

Zimmerman claimed self defense, and was not charged with any crime.

It's the latest in a series of possible police missteps uncovered by ABC News.

The Sanford Police Department has come under withering criticism for failing to reach out to Martin's girlfriend, who was talking to the teen on his cell phone and heard the altercation with Zimmerman take place.

Among other issues, police have been criticized for:

Withholding a batch of telling 911 calls, including the one revealing Zimmerman's possible racist remark.

Sending a narcotics detective to the scene, instead of a homicide detective, as is typical for homicides.

And failing to administer a drug and alcohol test to Zimmerman that night, which homicide investigator Rod Wheeler called a "fatal flaw in the investigation."

... .

Some beating you to pulp - pull your gun and defend yourself…

Repeating Post # 704. Clear indication that
the Sanford Police Dept created its own history of racism:

The “step aside” by the chief and prosecutor raise more questions.
This police department was buried to its throat just over a year ago
when the son of a lieutenant was let go after he (white) brutally beat
a homeless (black) man. So things would have been - except that a
video existed and proved the son’s guilt. The Sanford PD created its
own very recent history of racist behavior.

Some beating you to pulp - pull your gun and defend yourself…
You know to a certainty that Zimmerman had been beated to a pulp before he had to use his gun? Beaten to a pulp? Do you know what a person looks like who has been beaten to a pulp?

BTW, the police didn’t say that he had been “beaten to a pulp,” if you put any credence to what cops say.

Sure. In a free country, you have the right to look and sound foolish.
So again…the police and prosecutors are always right? I have the highest respect for police officers, but I’m not about to concede to them perfection.

As I see the facts in this case, they clearly justify a trial. That’s an opinion. You see that there is not enough evidence to weigh in either way-that is also an opinion. Someone else might see that the evidence clearly exonerates Zimmerman. This is also an opinion.

But apparently my “clearly justify a trial” opinion is equivalent to a lynch mob in some people’s eyes and sinful in others, while the “Zimmerman walks” and “Nobody knows, nobody should express an opinion” opinions are the only Christian/rule of law options available.

I don’t have to agree that Zimmerman should have been arrested to agree that there was a better way for him to handle this.
This seems to be a subtlety lost on most here but it is exactly right.

I would too.

Some here would arrest you, lock you up and throw away the key. Oh and call you “mildly wacko.”
And if anyone of you were following me for some distance down a dark street, and I wasn’t sure who you were, and you were possibly armed, and I feared for my safety…I might turn around and attempt to defend myself.

And some here would say that I was then responsible for my own death when the man who was following me shot me dead, because I shouldn’t have been wearing a hoodie/looked suspicious/walked on a public sidewalk where I had every right to be walking/defended myself.

Justified hoimicide can be proven in COURT. Period. There is no going home for Self Defense is such a situation which is to get to MY POINT.
The fact that self defense can be proven in court doesn’t mean that it can only be decided by a judge and jury. That is a simple logical error on your part. (But at least you are no longer claiming that there is no self defense in CT.)
A kid was shot for no reason there was a Crime and its called MURDER. Stick to what you do know, Instead of what you don’t know.
That is not what the evidence indicated to the police and DA who acted on their legitmate discretion.

Since all legitimate neighborhood watch programs seem to recommend
that volunteers carry no weapons while acting as volunteers, it’s hard to fault
anyone who might be inclined to label Zimmerman as a wacko.

At the very least, his approach is NOT the recommended approach.
