True or false: the pope is brother to other bishops in one sense, and he is father to the other bishops in another. In other words, he is both brother and father.
 
He is, after all the Bishop of rome. As well, he is known as the Holy Father, as he is the spiritual father of the entire Church.
 
I would say “true”:

The Pope is in a sense, a “brother,” because he is, sacramentally speaking, equal to all other bishops.

But, he is the head bishop, and he is the spiritual leader, second only to Christ on earth. This is what makes him a “father.” He is the Holy Father.

The popes often refer to fellow bishops as “my brothers” or “our brothers in the episcopate” or similar salutations. It’s very common in letters. In fact, it would be unusual for a pope not to use such language.
